Hi
Hoping someone may be able to help me x I bought a new sofa from sofaworks within seven days I had burns over my face x I called sofaworks to find out what I could do and after the guy spoke to head office he called me back to say there was nothing they could do and that they'd never heard of this happening before x so I put a throw over my couch put my TV in my bedroom and kept away for over a week so my face would heal x two days ago I thought I'd be ok so sat on sofa for a couple of hours and the burns are back on my face x where do I go from here x can I request they take it away as it's made me ill and is no use to me x and isn't fit for purpose for me x any advice would be appreciated x
Thank you
Vikki

Take photos of the burns and send them to Sofaworks. I would also contact trading standards about this.
I remember seeing this on watchdog a while ago.
Perhaps some googling will help:

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
If you Google "Daily Mail toxic furniture" you will find that it was known about in 2008.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0

Sounds to me they are lying, as posters mentioned above, it's been on watchdog and the likes before, they do have liability.Need to get rid of my Yankee Candle Habit, Not very money saving of me0
-
very LARGE liability , if you read the newspaper report0
-
How can you sit on a sofa yet get burns on your face?
Surely you'd have burns the second time where you came in contact?0 -
What does your doctor say about the "burns"?0

Assuming it is the same issue - we don't have any indication that it is.0 -
from all accounts its not the actual contact with the sofa , its the poisonous fumes given off from it , because of "sachets" of an illegal product added to the packing cases/boxes to stop the leather going off during transport0
