No idea, but I do know someone else who uses speech marks in the same way you do ;)

As said, ask the job centre. Only they can advise you

    Many Thanks.

I will call them on Tuesday ( once the Bank Holiday is over ).I do not hold much hope though from previous experience , as they seem more interested in just sitting on their bungholes all day and make life as awkward as possible.

Hopefully I will be pleasantly surprised , but somehow doubt it.

On the topic of the waiting times of 5 weeks. If I cannot get a " short term advance" on my UC what do I do for funds in the mean time for food and my utilities?

As I simply cannot afford to wait for the full 5 weeks with just £0.46 in the bank.

    Thanks

    Kelly.

Short term advances are treated differently on UC is my understanding so its unlikely you'll be turned down, if they do they may give you a voucher for a food bank.

I sure hope so. Its the whole WAITING of 5 weeks thats causing the problems.

What do u think a realistic amount to ask for is per week as a " Short term Benefit advance" bearing in mind its hard enough to pay bills/eat/travel on the £70 odd a week as is it?

    Thanks for any help.

I'm confused. What did you live on for the last 20 weeks?

Hope you get it sorted quickly.

you keep repeating the same quotes
has someone confirmed to you that you will not be getting a payment for 5 weeks?
You must know what you spend currently so can work out what you need

    Hi,

Nobody has confirmed to me that I will not be getting a Short term Benefit advance. I just want to be prepared in case I cannot get one, ie be on the safe side etc..
