How will the economy be affected by SNP MPs; will it be for richer or for poorer and

I would agree they have won nothing yet, I also think they stand to loose a great deal of their support if they don't produce something of worth soon tbh0

Your missing out the MSM. Look at wings today for a start, its been a right SNP attack day, they must be scaring someone ... All fun to watch though0

The problem is they know FFA is both unachievable and currently unworkable. They just ask for it continually to justify their existence.
Would help if they could detail what they would do with it if they got it. Any ideas?
SNP 's dilemma over no detail or new ideas underpinning their nice sound bites is slowly becoming harder even for their most efficient party spin machine to obfuscate from their own voters.
I now agree with the person who observed the only thing SNP excels at is marketing themselves as a brand. Which they've done very successfully so far.
But at some point people won't accept SNP telling them the detail will be revealed in yet another of their vague never ending expert working group studies. Which usually conclude with a further more detailed study being recommended. 2 new ones have just commenced which takes them nicely up to the start of their 2016 election campaign.
Naturally they won't contain any detailed ideas either, but will contain loads of criticism directed at Westmonster, because ' if only' they were given the financial levers etc etc.
It's a good game.0 -
I thought PMQ's was again quite telling yesterday. A parochial party empowered largely by greviance taking on one that has been tested in government for generations, in the long term in my opinion there can only be one winner.
The current Tory narrative directed toward the SNP of "to govern, is to choose" has real traction and the current SNP tactic of FFA mañana and their obsession with 'process' will do for them eventually.“Britain- A friend to all, beholden to none”. 🇬🇧0 -

I'm not sure. Most that voted Yes voted thinking Smith/Vow etc etc was never going to be honoured. I think that what's happening now is just bringing that home to everyone, including the reluctant No's last Sept. It seems to me that most have given up even thinking that FFA or even Smith in full is ever going to come to fruition.. and are just marking time until another possible referendum.
Labour/Lib Dem and Tory support seems now to be concentrated in the over 60's in Scotland. As you can see even on this board, they are extremely bitter about the SNP in power too. This wasn't supposed to happen after the referendum. The SNP were supposed to fragment, then crash and burn after a No vote. I remember all those confident predictions in the media.. just like the ones here at the moment. Well they were all wrong.
That the SNP's popularity is going to wane at some point is inevitable. But I don't think it will be down to the Tories and Labour constantly voting them down in Westminster to be honest. That just solidifies support imo.It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -

I think those few sentences underline exactly how little you know and understand about Scotland and it's politics. The current Tory narrative directed toward the SNP of "to govern, is to choose" has real traction and the current SNP tactic of FFA mañana and their obsession with 'process' will do for them eventually.
The current Tory narrative towards the SNP is terrible and is endangering the union. Ask Ruth Davidson and Alistair Carmichael. ( if you even know who they are that is ).The Liberal Democrat MP today attacks the Prime Minister for what he describes as a conversion to "English nationalism" to win last month's General Election that is now the biggest threat to Scotland's place within the UK...
Mr Carmichael writes that "Ruth Davidson is right... the future of the United Kingdom ...is not secure."
Her message needs to be heard in 10 Downing Street, he adds: "It is from there the biggest threat to the Union now comes".
Obviously you know better, with your extensive 'finger on the pulse' grasp of politics within a parochial Scotland, than they do though ?It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -
I find it ludicrous that they believed independence could be achieved in 18 months, yet FFA would take years.
It exposes the tactic of drawing out FFA out even more, in my view. Maybe they realise they would struggle to match the Scottish voter expectations with the economic reality.0 -

I don't know better than anyone else who profers their opinion on these boards, it is however always my opinion and unlike some of your posts not packed full of links to other people's opinions.
It is not English nationalism to tell a party that has won a mandate in one part of the UK off the back of an imagined greviance to "put up or shut up!" in my view.“Britain- A friend to all, beholden to none”. 🇬🇧0
