To be fair, it probably has in Scotland.

Retail sales are going backwards (down 0.9%), whisky exports are down, oil output is down.

Growth HAD stalled. The quote was from 2012 re AAA ratings. Moody's said 'subdued growth'. Feel free to read the quote and date properly. :)
It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?

Anyway, farewell FFA/Devo Max ( that was never offered or going to be, apart from when it seemed to be a week before the referendum ).. It was nice knowing you. Tories and Labour seem to be about to shoot their own fox.
The SNP has called on the Tories to stop "playing games with Scotland" as the UK Government confirmed it will reject the Nationalists' call for the power to implement full fiscal autonomy north of the border.

Can almost feel another head of steam building up here.. Even George 'Just Say Naw Super Dooper Devo Total Maximus' Galloway has apparently reluctantly conceded the inevitable.. ;)
ONE of the most controversial of all No campaigners in the referendum has predicted Scotland will back independence within five years...

He told the Sunday Herald: "I think independence is probably nigh. The only way it could have been stopped is if we had got a Labour government last month and if that Labour government had begun to make a difference.
"But these next five Tory years are going to be very cold, and the SNP leadership seems to have the ball at their feet and know what to do with it.
"So I'd be very surprised if there wasn't another referendum in the course of this next five years, and I'd be very surprised if we managed to repeat the result we got last year. "I'd take the same stand that I did last year. But I wouldn't be expecting to win."

Do the SNP have shares in referendum companies or something?

Is there any chance of them getting down to any serious work between referendums / lobbying WM / moaning to the media ?

LOL ... today apart from being in the Chamber taking an active part in the debate ..... strategy meetings on EU Referendum ....three media commitments ... two evening APPG meetings and showing a lovely old lady from our constituency around Westminster, our MP has generated 72 response letters, made 17 appointments for meetings, scheduled 22 surgeries in his constituency, organised a gift to a young lass hurt in an accident last week, Skyped with a lad with cancer .. got HMRC to stump up over £7K in overdue Tax Credits for five families, stopped one from being unfairly evicted, written letters in defence of an immigration case ...... and has just made it home to his one year old baby to do bathtime.

................. tomorrow - more of the same I should think!

But don't worry about #Team56 at Westminster ... we won't be there long ;)

The mood has swung a bit in Scotland and obviously (law of nature) it's impossible to swing back.

Easy to have cosy views when one doesn't need to consider irritating issues, like what currency you would use, whether you would be a member of the Eu whether you would use the Euro, whether you would default on your debts, which taxes to increase and/or which benefits to cut, how much to borrow on the markets and at what interest rate, flight of financial services to England etc.

Strangely none of these issues seem to being discussed.
