PS, while you are in there, you also have the option to "clear cache" for each individual app.
Don't choose "clear data", or you will lose data for that app.
Eg facebook username and password etc0 -
go to your phone app, choose keypad and type the following :-
*#9900#
This will bring up the SysDump menu ..
Press the second option down , which is "Delete dumpstate/logcat"
This should fix your issue

How will this help me to move data to my SD card? Sounds very risky, and sounds as though I could lose the information I want to keep on my phone.0 -
Well yes if you want to keep the log .
But why would you unless you are able to make use of it and more to the point decipher it .
At worst it means a factory reset and that's no problem providing you have backed up all your data .0 -

Sorry, this was going back to your original question about how to free up space on your phone.
You can safely delete this log as it is useless to you in your situation.
It basically holds a log of everything your android OS does and it can be safely deleted.
These files can become VERY large after a few years of using your phone and are a major cause of insufficient space messages on older androids
Hope this helps
