    Welcome back Jo Jo :)

Hannah & BB must be a day for it. I played about 6 rounds of Top Trumps with son today. I think I like Horrible Histories the most. And Hannah wow doing aerobics up to your due date!

A load of washing on the line; batched errands in town with a visit to a friend to save petrol, wear and tear, etc; dropped off two birthday gifts which were (brand new) from CS. Not as bad as it sounds as this way the recipients get a nicer gift for almost the same money.

I buy all my own clothes (except undies) in charity shops and always look out for potential presents too. For close family they might be second hand clothes but you can often get non-clothes bits and bobs new/nearly new at good prices cant you? I also buy plain mugs in cs and then knit a cosy and coaster which makes a unique present for about 50p!

Bob, I used to waterski every week and one of the women there was still skiing while pregnant, her doctor had given her the go ahead as she was so fit and had been skiing for years. I do wonder though whether he really understood quite how good she was and how hard you can hit the water on a slalom course! I think you should take the advice of your doctor, it's only a few months to miss :)

The last couple of days have passed in a cleaning frenzy in readiness for the viewings today. No news as yet but at least we have a spotless house for the rest of the weekend!

Tomorrow is our little nephew's first birthday so we are invited for a BBQ, I bought his present a few months back when I saw it at a ridiculously bargainous price. The food will be good as SIL is a brilliant cook but I'm stressing about the long journey with 7 of us crammed into the cab for a long journey (including MIL and one of DH's band mates who I don't know particularly well) as my IBS is currently playing up and it's an unfamiliar route so I don't know here the toilet stops are :o

My mum is coming for lunch on Monday so I've bought everything to cook a roast dinner but forgot the stuffing mix so popped to a Mr T local and nearly had a blue fit when they only had the Finest version  I eventually found a cheaper one (still more expensive than my usual value one) but the cost was somewhat offset by finding two garlic and herb flatbreads for 6p each and a loaf of bread with 2 days to go still for 5p :T

Work is stressful with a grown adult behaving like a child. There's no way I will ever be getting booked there again which is a bit unfair as I've just been caught in the crossfire and, without wishing to blow my own trumpet (toot, toot!) have actually saved the day but the person that has been sidelined would rather have saved their ego instead and is being obstructive and petty.
    Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

    December £361.54, November £322.28, October £288.52, September £374.30, August £223.95, July £71.45, June £251.22, May£119.33, April £236.24, March £106.74, Feb £40.99, Jan £98.54) Total for 2017 - £2,495.10

    Morning all

Sorry for not posting yesterday, it was manic anf I'm now wiiiide awake when I wanted to have a lie in :p

    - Yesterday was spendy but in a good way - collected the 2nd hand kitchen and it's stored ready for when needed. It's in amazing condition and is a very good make so hands down we got a stonking bargain there
    - Did a huge shop of meat (some more than the month), sack of potatoes, groceries. Oh and 3 sacks of onions, reduced and buy 2 get the 3rd free and the 3rd free offer still kicked in lol.
    - Started to compile freezer slow cooker meals. 8 dinners in and more to do today. Then to portion up and bag the rest of the meat
    - I want to go through the boys' clothes today. Ds1 stuff that's too small and worth keeping is for the loft, DS2's stuff that's too small and is in good nick is fot the CS. When popping DS's stuff in the loft I'll look for and pull out any of DS1's previously stored stuff that will fit DS2 now

Right, the cat's trampling on me and demanding that I ignore my phone and make a fuss. Will see if I can catch any more Z's too :)

FVD - water skiing must have been great. Will you ever go back to it now as a hobby? It's sad what gets given up once life gets hectic. I was playing field hockey up to 4 months pg & running club, plus military fitness. Having no childcare on hand and a new baby I found life very slow going! I'm probably the fittest I've been in years now. Just in time to give it all up again :) Really hope your tum will be ok. That must be very stressful for you. Work sounds full on as well which probably doesn't help.

Shortie - 5.11am  hope you will get through the day ok. More coffee for you?

    Good morning DFW-Devotees,

Well, we had an awesome day yesterday: running then hiking to a glen where we stood and watched two deer for ages, a heron on its nest (from a distance through a zoom lens) and enjoyed an unusually sunny day. Topped it off with a nice homemade pasta and a cut price DVD obtained through Flubit (Link).

Didn't finish my list from yesterday and I'm going to try to finish all the jobs I've been putting off and issues I'm undecided on too. If I don't I risk feeling overhelmed. Enough is enough!

    New Era Day 16:

:grinheart Check online banking. Reconcile Finances Spreadsheet. Done.

:grinheart Decide what to spend free £5 clothing voucher on. Done.

:grinheart Clean up fridge with own-brand-Milton before something dies in there from plague. Didn't do this yesterday although I did do all the rest of the housework with Stardrops and washable cloths. Done.

    :grinheart Clean Thermos flask with
    own-brand-Milton after yesterdays hike. Done.

:grinheart Contemplate buying £10 concert tickets when my favourite folk singer comes to town from our entertainment budget. Still to decide on this.

:grinheart Look at Burt's Bees sale. The last beeswax lipbalm in a tin I bought lasted forever. May buy a small pack of goodies at a reduced price as it is so long lasting however. Will audit toiletries first to see if I need it. (Link) Still to do this. Bought one £2.95 lipbalm.

:grinheart Discuss rest of month's spending with OH later. Didn't do this yesterday. Done.

    :grinheart Sort out wedding album.

:grinheart Make decisions over which parts of OH's broken PC we are going to replace. Done.

    :grinheart Clear emails.
    Done.

:grinheart Clear clutter off mobile phone. Done.

:grinheart Clear clutter off eBay account and list three wee things. Done.

:grinheart Revised an eBay listing to that it iss £4.50+£2.50 postage instead of £7 including postage. Done. It sold straightaway!

    :grinheart Do RoyalMail Surveys.
    Done.

:grinheart Turn alarm clock off at the wall til tonight. Done.

:grinheart Check out breakdown cover. Done, can get for £50 with StartRescue.

:grinheart Sign up for B&Q loyalty card. Don't buy a lot there, but might give us something for nothing. (Link) You have to collect the card from the shop but you can use the form in the link, leave the card number blank and register the card later.
    Done.

Good luck with your Devotions, Devotees.

  • Morning everyone - I have started kicking! (Thanks Bob! :D)

Feeling much more positive this weekend and have had some sleep - amazing what a good nights sleep can do. Am determined not to stress out and am focusing on other bits and pieces. Had a low moment last week, had a panic and now looking ahead.

    This weekend so far:
2 loads of washing (kids half term / school clothes)
Sorted out cupboards to do frugal food shop this week and spend no more than £20.
Made a couple of lists of stuff to do - helps me focus and get organised
Tidied around our garden yesterday in the sun. Need to plant some flowers but that can wait.
Made a crumble with stuff in the baking cupboard and an old in-date tin of fruit that wasn't being eaten - kids are now very happy!
Tidied upstairs and given it a bit of a clean
Sorted out my file with all papers and know exactly where we stand, what we are waiting for and what to do next. Nothing we can do for at least a fortnight so am not going to worry myself with things that are out of my control.
Planning on going on a walk today with the kids. Looks gtrey but the sun might come through - either way I need some fresh air and exercise to clear the mind.

Hope everyone is having a good bank holiday weekend. :)

Purple - that's brilliant! You sound very in control & doing lots of great helpful stuff for you too. Go team purple!!

Hannah - have you taken anything for the headache? Enough caffeine to sort you out? I find if I don't have the same amount as on a week day I can get bad headaches at weekends. Sure the two are linked.
