Sat/Sun 23rd/24th May 2015 - What small DFW things will you do this weekend?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important! :money:

Good morning DFW-Devotees,
Beautifully sunny here today. Going to make the most of it.
New Era Day 15:
:grinheart Check online banking.
:grinheart Free ParkRun this morning. OH is coming, yay! (Link)
:grinheart Got a free £5 clothing voucher when I bought something for £9 at SportsDirect. The offer's still running. (Link) I know they have a bad ethical record. Don't yell at me! I'll try to be ethical in future. Been running in the same, frequently washed(!), three-quarter length shorts for six months but they're too thick and not actually sportswear so figured I should invest in some [STRIKE]lycra [/STRIKE] polyester as warmer weather is coming and last week I got so hot running in them I felt a little unwell.
:grinheart Clean up fridge before something dies in there from plague.
:grinheart Contemplate buying £10 concert tickets when my favourite folk singer comes to town from our entertainment budget.
:grinheart Look at Burt's Bees sale. The last beeswax lipbalm in a tin I bought lasted forever. May buy a small pack of goodies at a reduced price as it is so long lasting however. Will audit toiletries first to see if I need it. (Link)
:grinheart OH went to pump at tyres at garage and was given 20p by a stranger so to do. Nice man!
:grinheart Fakeaway last night. I recommend this book. Ordered it from the library a few times. (Link) Other bookshops are available.
:grinheart Listen to music I already own.
:grinheart Enjoy friendship around the globe for 'free' on Facebook.
:grinheart Discuss rest of month's spending with OH later.
Good luck with your Devotions, Devotees.

Morning Guys
Ally - yes you need to be comfortable doing sports. I live in a pair of quite expensive USA pro leggings that I got reduced from Sports Direct. They are amazing for cycling. I can hardly feel they are on. Hope you have a good run. On that note my son was asking me to take him round for park run when we go next. But I remember from last time I had to stop running club at 20 weeks pg because they said it wasn't very good for you. But pros run the whole way through & have healthy births so...
Determined -might have missed this But how did your valuation go?
Today we will be
- Packing lunches to take out on our journey.
- Cycling our journies
- Eating what food we have in the fridge.
- Tidying up the room OH'S parents will be using next week
- Doing some more gardening. Need to repot our Christmas tree which is obviously a happy tree as it's covered in pine cones at the moment.
Anyway will add more as I go.
Have a great day all.

ParkRun will let him run with any adult you choose so you could delegate to someone else if that suited....Debt-free day: 8th May 2015 "Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck," Dalai Llama0 -
Thanks Ally, good to know. I'm sure my husband wouldn't mind doing it again, but I would quite like to have joined in. Suppose I need to get some advice on why they say you shouldn't run when pg. It's very low impact as well at only 2k. Anyway! Husband has been very industrious this morning & tidied the lounge which really needed it, plus mown the lawn. We've all just had chicken sandwiches from stores & now considering what else we have to do today." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Afternoon all,
Thanks for the start Ally, thanks for the fakeaway link, going to have a look
Dnm - I'm craving strawberries now!Enjoy.
Bob, when I was exercising when pregnant, the advice I got was that it was good to keep up with your usual level of exercise but not start something new. I wish we had a park run nearby but I checked and we don't
Today, the weather has been lovely. So this morning we..
bought a paper to get the boys the free lego.
Parked on the road and walked the last bit so no car park costs
Got free sausage roll with hubby's gregs app
Paid a £1 for a horrid henry book (should have been £4.99 not worth that money) from WH smiths using an offer on ds2's Happy meal.
Took dvd & a few books back to the library, ds2 used his card again to get out 2 more books
Popped into c0-op and picked up some reduced items (corn on the cob, ham, spinach, indian nibbles & tomatoes) these will be used to do a picnic tea for us all tonight in front of the tele watching either a film from our stash or Ninja warriors.
Made swiss shortbread & flapjack to use some of the ys stork I picked up last week.
Moved broken garden swing down the side of the house and replaced it with some other garden furniture we had elsewhere in the garden.
I think that's all the mse stuff we have done!Following :money: to keep us debt free :j0 -
