Under both EU and UK law its not illegal to sell these boxes and as pointed out above, its also a very grey area if watching them is. But thanks for telling everyone about it.

Kodi is free, stick it on your laptop. Follow some youtube tutorials and you wont pay for it and it runs better on a laptop
  • Great find and thanks OP. Have just installed it on my tablet and quality is very good and you can get loads of channels including all of the sports channels.

Will be ordering a set top box for my tv a.s.a.p. Then I will be cancelling my sky subscription.
  • Ordered a set-top box for my TV and hopefully will be say bye to Sky soon.

Thanks again OP. I did not know such boxes existed until your post.

Back to basics for me please :)

Can these boxes replace Sky altogether? The ebay one I looked at seemed to talk more about using lots of apps than using it for tv viewing.

As the streams are all illegal they can be taken down at any time or simply stop .
Stutter and freeze can be another issue or no stream at all .

The boxes are able to run software that runs as a media player and can also integrate applications / addons that can grab TV streams that are available on the web both legal and illegal .

Well, well, well, every day is a school day.
I don't like morning people. Or mornings. Or people.
  • Yep my Kodi box is great. Watched two 2015 films last night in HD. Can't complain.
