So about these Motability dates then.

As stated, you can't order until 3 months before your renewal date. Motability send you a letter when you are eligible to go and order a new vehicle, which you take with you when you go to order it. Once ordered you will get another letter with a PIN number - you need to take that to the dealership when you collect the vehicle.

Most dealerships will have no problem with you ordering early. I ordered my last one 11 weeks before the renewal date and the lead time was only 5 weeks. If they are an official dealership they will be able to specify a delivery date to the factory/manufacturer. Mine was delivered to the dealership 3 days before I was due to get it.

Motability publish their new list of cars and the deposit values each quarter on the 1st of January, April, July and October.

You can search which cars are on the scheme on the Motability website here...

The dealership can put an order through first then tie it in with Motability once the date they can order comes. That way, there is less chance of a delay.

Already answered a few times - you can't order a car more than 3 months before your changeover date. Sometimes an order will take longer to be delivered, a garage may be willing to hold a car but no guarantee.

However , in my friend's case it is a first application and there is no changeover date .I don't know if that affects the situ-probably not i guess
Also on the renewal dates do Advance Payments usually go up -or generally stay same ?
Anyway , i suppose he can order in late Jun then
