ISA appeal rejected, help please!

Hi,
I got a parking ticket from an SIP car park for not having a valid ticket displayed. We bought a ticket at 7.46pm (even though the car park becomes free at 8.00pm) but because we were parked in a really tight spot and you couldn't easily get past the car, we put the ticket on the back parcel shelf to make it easier for the parking attendant to see. When we got back we'd received a ticket and told we had to pay £60 because we didn't have a ticket on display on the dashboard. I wrote to SIP and sent them the valid ticket (I took photos before I sent it) and asked them to drop the matter because we had a ticket.
They dismissed the appeal because they were issuing a ticket because it was not displayed correctly (on the dashboard) and not because we didn't have a valid ticket. I then appealed to the IPC for help using a template from a forum arguing that:
1. We had a valid ticket.
2. We tried to display it in a helpful way.
3. The fine (which had now risen to £100) was completely disproportionate for the short time they perceived the violation to have occurred.
My IAS appeal has just been rejected on the grounds that:
1. It doesn't matter if we had a valid ticket as that's not why we got a ticket.
2. We should have read the sign properly about how to display the ticket and we implicitly agreed to their conditions when we bought the ticket.
3. The amount of time for the violation doesn't matter.
What should I do?
Thanks!

IGNORE (for 6 years) anything except court papers
a few typos in your post (ISA etc) but I got the gist
so IGNORE , especially debt collector letters0 -
Thanks. Do you think they'll take it to court? Is there anything else I should do in the meantime?0

This whole incident just epitomises what a total scam and joke the parking (mis)management industry is in this country!
Any old excuse to extort money from anyone they can, ignore them now and if this ever foolishly got to go to court the regulars on here would help you.
While you are about it why not read this and use your experience as an example on the government's consultation site about private parking companies;)

Probably not; it'd make the IAS look stupid.0

Now that you have Skippy's anonymous and ill-informed decision, treasure it, it is your get out of jail card. No court in the land will find for a PPC if they are not offering an impartial adjudication process, and the IAS is funded and controlled by the PPC's and dances to their tune.
You may get a few threatening letters from their in house solicitors, (same offices), but in the end they will cut their losses and look elsewhere. An IAS rejection is as good as a PoPLA win.You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
The IPC have the worst appeals service in the know galaxy ....... the chances of winning are small.
Opinion is a bit divided on how to deal with them ..... my suggestion is to do the appeals , for several reasons
one being if iF IF it gets to court then you will be shown as being reasonable
a second is it builds up the case against them .... come judgment day!
Read/search the forum threads ... search the forum for the people who have won appeals with the kangaroo court ....
in other words
do your homework and then decide what your action should be
I know what I think you should do

So now I've gone through both appeals processes is my best course to just ignore all the letters unless I get something official from the county court?0
-
yes ....
and let the Government know your feelings about this scam....
they have a consultation survey running for just a few more days

You should never have bothered with the IAS. That's why there is no template here. But yes you've ended up at the same stage you would have been at, but having handed SIP the advantage (i.e. they'll use the IAS decision in their evidence if they proceed - it's shocking rubbish but they'll use it). We should not even be giving PPCs that - I think the Newbies thread says don't appeal to the IAS. Never mind, now wait and see!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

No, no no, no, no, no, no. It is in everybody's interests that we chalk up as many lost IAS appeals as we can, especially while they remain anonymous.
Believe me, I have worked with The Immigration Appeals Services on and off for over 20 years
I suggest that you revise the newbies thread accordingly. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0
