More recently, arguments have been made for extending the mandatory 10 minute g
race
period being introduced for parking on
-
street and in local authority owned car parks.
These examples are offered to prompt thought and discussion. We want to hear what you
think, and what evidence you can offer to support action, or lack of action, in
particular
areas.
This document is therefore opening the floor to you to tell us:
1.
Do you think there are problems with how parking on private or public land is
regulated, or the behaviour of private parking companies?
2.
If you answered Yes to Question 1, wh
at problems do you think there are with
parking on private land, or the practices of parking control companies managing
parking on private or public land?
3.
If you answered Yes to Question 1, what steps do you think the Government
should take to rectify thes
e problems?
4.
Are you able to offer any evidence to support a case for change, or examples of
best practice?
5.
Do you think there are other steps the Government could take to ensure that
parking supports local shops and high streets?
6.
If you answered Yes to Q5,
what steps do you think the Government should take
to help support local shops and high streets, for example by encouraging the
provision of free and competitively priced parking spaces?

I'm a bit surprised, and disappointed, that this thread is dropping down the front page. People should be using this to provide the government with clear examples of the corruption and excesses of the private parking industry.
As per my thread about contacting prospective MPs - we don't get a chance very often when ALL politicians are receptive to peoples views. Use this opportunity - complete this consultation and contact all your candidates in your constituency."The darkest places in hell are reserved for those who maintain their neutrality in times of moral crisis." - Dante Alighieri0 -
Just in the process of doing that very thng!0

Parking Prankster has a nice long list of PPC wrongdoings he is submitting to this consultation :-

Completed the survey. Tried to be honest, balanced and objective in my responses.
Took 10 minutes, so c'mon, have a bash!

Yep, gave it a 'bash' Used a real example of my VULNERABLE elderly uncle being scared into paying NPE their £60 demand(despite my encouragment not to) and stating this is occurring thousands and thousands of times up and down this country by this and other ppcs as shown by this mse forum.Got a ticket from ParkingEye? Just completed my survey as well. Let's hope it does some good.
When completing yours, be sure to refer to some cases such as the injured climber on Snowdon and others.0 -
Here are a couple of my comments:--
Stop the perversion of contract law that parking control companies attempt to use to justify their fines. No private company can issue fines only the police & local government can do this. To manage parking landowners must use such means as barriers or staff the entrance & exit of the car park.
Forbid ANPR systems for parking management as they do nothing to aid parking management & are just an automated way for these companies to maximise their profit to the detriment of their clients.0 -

I made the exact same as well as my own personal experience with a vulnerable person who the ppc vultures scared into paying them.Got a ticket from ParkingEye? Seek advice by clicking here: Private Parking forum on MoneySavingExpert.:j0
