I had never heard of this card - it looks quite interesting at a quick glance. Free card, load GBP and convert at the mid-market rate at the time of use overseas for spending or ATM withdrawal, with a small percentage mark up. Apparently no other fees and excess GBP can be used for UK spending fee-free. Anyone has experience..?

Had a look at the web site and from what i can see there are better cards out there in terms of the transaction fees

The main drawback I can see is that it's not suitable for deposit pre-authorisation on hotels and car rental, otherwise pretty good for a prepaid card. Contis are quite a well known firm. Strange that nobody seems to have used it.

    Kalixa Pay.

No fees on POS anywhere and as little as 0.75% on ATM withdrawals.

Seasons quoted exchange rates are 'pie in the sky' and whilst they claim no hidden fees....
    * Additional fee of £1 applies if withdrawal is less than £100
** For loads of £250 or above (otherwise £0.50).

So a few caveats there. Withdraw less than the equivalent of £100 from an ATM whilst abroad and you can pay 1.5% plus £1.

If they use Visa Europe rates why is that 'pie in the sky'? The fees are not really hidden if you look at the fees table. Cards are free and UK ATM fee 75p (Kalixa 1.75). It seems comparable to Kalixa Pay, similar format, but the curious thing is the complete lack of reviews after running for a year or so.

OP - why not give it a try? I might, just for the hell of it...

The rate on their front page does not tally with the VISA rate.

What have the UK atm withdrawal rates have to do with a card to be used overseas??

You can empty the card for free via POS transaction.

You can get a £5 rebate via referral. I got mine for free....together with a £5 rebate. So I got paid £5 to obtain one.
