But we would retain what you call the deadweight of european regulation if we continue to trade with the EU.Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.0

Job security - with entirely open borders? What happens when we have another crisis - it may just be round the corner - and we cannot control the numbers moving to the UK from eastern and southern Europe?
What happens when we cannot stop the UK jobs moving to the EU?We won't be allowed to leave though - even if it were a leave vote we would be asked to keep voting until we voted the right way. No one took any notice of the Dutch, French or Irish referenda
You mean Cameron will not accept the result of his own referendum?Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.0 -
I am late to this debate and have not read any of the first NINE pages.
However I do agree with post 370 and 379 the last paragraph.
The debate for the "man" in the street should come down to simple good or bad things about staying a member of the EU.
What treaty's say or wether it will be difficult to withdraw do not matter to the vast majority.
Simple good or bad one liners are the best argument either way.
Can we have some of those please, from both sides.0 -

But the one thing the pollsters got right, was the SNP surge in Scotland.0

Well that is the big question. If say Deutsche Bank move half their UK jobs out of the UK we lose those jobs and probably more from the SMEs that service the firm. Eight out of 10 UK manufactured cars are exported and the EU is the largest market for them. Nothing would happen overnight but eventually investment decisions will draw some jobs back to the EU. The Sunday Times reports many fund managers are contemplating relocations to the EU if UK were to vote to leave.
Of course it may never happen..... but these are uncertain times.Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.0 -

as a fair minded person you have forgotten to tell
us about jobs that would be transferred here because we can trade freely with the entire world
or about the jobs being lost every day because our exports to the EU are declining
or about the cars imported into the UK which could be manufactured here
or about how many jobs are being created in Greece due to it's being a member of the EU
or lots of other things.0 -

Do you understand the concept of debate? Try joining the dots on your own.
Which jobs do you expect to transfer from the EU to the UK after Brexit?
So you think Citreon, Seat and BMW are planning to move jobs out of the EU? Do explain this?Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.0
