  • There were two types of people on the Titanic - those who ran to the life boat when the ship struck the iceberg (let's call em 'survivors') and those who stood about saying "don't be silly, this ship is unsinkable" (lets call them 'victims').

If I were a NR customer, I'd have my life jacket on and be telling the women and children to "make some room". ;)

Asking questions and listening to answers is responsible concern. Posting misinformation and blatant inaccuracies in an attempt to scare monger is stupid and irresponsible.

Please return to the forums when you actually know what you are talking about. I also suggest you read up on BCCI because it has no comparison with NR.

No doubt these people desperate to get to the bank, withdraw everything, panic everyone into a "tabloid" craze, crash the systems, are the same type of people that brought all the petrol during the fuel problems in the UK a few years ago, leaving none left for people who actually needed fuel; and the same people who strip supermarkets of essential products, hoarding them, when there might be a slight shortage of something the cards.

I won't make a personal comment on these people, it wouldn't be fair ;)
  • For the person who still has shares..you want us to take nvestment tips from you?

For the one quoting liquidity.. that's old data now, people are queuing up for their money, so the liquidity is going down and at some point it will no longer be "exceeding" the requirements.

If there's 100's of safer alternatives, why take even 1% of the risk?

Anyone who quotes B.C.C.I. ( Bank of Credit and Commerce International for those who are quoting the name but have no idea what it means ) was involved in illegal money laundering in addition to a raft of other illegal activities, and was also not a U.K. Bank.............clearly has no idea what they are typing about.........how this equates to a perfectly legal Mortgage Bank business in 2007 is hard to fathom............

The people who lost their deposits were mainly small Asian businessmen who dealt with BCCI in all probability because of it Pakistan ownership, and a few Local Authorities who should have known better !!!

BCCI could not raise money in the money markets, or trade with any other reputable Bank because no reputable Bank would have anything to do with them at any stage !!!!!

  • The people who hoarded the petrol were the ones who were still driving around while I was stuck miles from home. I sat and watched the hoarders with a condescending smile thinking how silly they were, right up until I ran out of petrol ;)

I take it your car doesn't have a petrol guage, or could you just not read it?

Excellent, we can see all the cross-posts together too!

Can we have a sensible discussion about this now, rather than a scare and panic not based on facts?
  • Trying to get my money out of my internet account with them. Can't access site - get message saying try later because of technical problem. Can't get through to them on phone. Anyone know how I can get at my money, please?
