Parking - Can I do anything about neighbour deliberately blocking me

Don't get on with our neighbour at all. They've got three cars and a huge motorhome. Most of the time this motorhome is on the street - fair enough its taxed and its a public road and they've got every right to do so.

What gets me is that they take offence if someone takes their 'space' on the road.

We've got three cars and most of the time they're on our driveway. But we're having it re-done so one of our cars is parked on the road.

Our neighbour has taken offence and parked one of his cars in front and one behind - leaving a two inch gap so its impossible to get the car out. Saw him do it - his wife got out and watched him reverse etc so he could get as close as possible.

Is there anything I can do about this? Must admit considering calling 101.

BTW - one if his cars is a BMW Z4 - ours is a 15 year old mini. If I didnt want the mini damaged I'd have a game of dodgems in the space!

You could ask your neighbour to try growing up.

This is a static version of 'road rage'.

I'd be tempted to get the police but that will likely enrage them more.

I'd be waiting for one of their cars to move and then park another of my cars behind or in front of the one which is blocked.

Or wait for the opportunity do exactly the same to one of their cars which is blocking yours - totally block one of theirs - preferably one which is needed first thing in the morning.

Then you take ages to reply to the door then ages to come out - then you have the wrong keys - then the car won't start - then you stall it.

Oh, and 'Yr Alban am byth!' by the way.

Not very constructive, that's just going to escalate the situation - what's the end result?

You could buy a couple of bangers and park them outside their house but that's really childish. Get some manure delivered onto their driveway etc. Get a false plate made up to match one of their cars, hire an identical car and put the plate on it and drive through a load of local speed cameras wearing a mask etc etc

    Sigh.

Talk to your neighbours and get it sorted out amicably is my advice.

Not interested in stuff like that. I've got a life and cant be bothered. Just want to be able to use my car etc.

Move house then, only solution when dealing with such people, if you can't change their behaviour, change your neighbour.

Just park down road till your drive is done would seem the least hassle solution!

Classic case of thinking their house boundary lines extends to that patch of road outside and thus gives them the sense of "entitlement" to call it "theirs".

blocked in- car real close- a friend seen them bump into it so you want their insurance details don't you *wink* *wink*

register their address on some postal junk mail register!

they get allot of domino's pizza's kebabs and Chinese food don't they *wink*.

Local PCSO might have a friendly chat if someone so happened to make a anonymous complaint.

    That's it of course - you are a reasonable person - and they don't give a sh*t.

Problem is that the meek don't 'inherit the earth' - they just get made a fool of - or ignored.

It's unnecessary obstruction, and can be dealt with by the police. They'd likely send a PCSO round in the first instance to try to encourage your neighbour to stop being a moron. If that counsel fails, the tickets should get dished out.
Make everything as simple as possible, but not simpler.
