Just for a laugh...
Where can infestations occur? Oh yeah.... don't see any mention of auntie Doris's centrally heated lounge where they can't survive.
Like I said you're nothing but a Troll, possibly with an agenda against MSE or some of the people posting on it...

We used to have working gun dogs in the family, my gramps would ping them off the dogs and into the coal fire, they make a distinctive noise

They had to be checked daily as they were workers and not pets.0 -
I think badawhatsits information is more relevant to fleas.
One of my cats gets loads of ticks, the other has never had any. I keep telling him not to go in certain areas, but he ignores me and comes back with even more!
Any suggestions for something i can use for a cat, trying to get them off him is a nightmare. :-(0 -
Do you have a tick remover such as O'TOM tick remover0

I've got a tick remover, he just wont let me get them out. If they're in the right place i can sometimes sneak up on him when he's asleep, but he's had one on his chin for a couple of days and he just wont let me near it.0

Home hygeine has a lot to do with the tick problem 'cos it's usually the place where they fall off the host.
And when they fall off the host . . . !
What a complete load of utter tosh
We live in an area with lots of both Deer and Sheep (we see both pretty much every day!) so there's very little I can do on that front!
Sadly that means the dogs do tend to get ticks - Maisie has an allergy to their saliva and comes up in horrid welts that always get infected
I started using Advantix about 3 months ago and not a single tick :T big added bonus for us is that it also stops sandflies biting as she comes up in horrid, itchy huge bites with those - not a single one either :T
It's not cheap - but worth it's weight in gold for us
I did look at collars (and in fact have one in a drawer) but I don't like leaving collars on when I'm not here and it seems they have to be on all the time - so I've never tried itGrocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
