Google Streetview

I wish to save a copy of a streetview "shot" I can see of a property on Googlemaps and don't know how to do it. I need to keep the evidence of how that property was at that point in time - before Googlemaps updates it - and with the date they took that screenshot showing up clearly.

Can anyone tell me how to get that view up there as a webpage - that I can then manage to send to my googlemail (or send over to a blog of mine).

I am not computer-literate enough to even keep "files" on computer (hence I have blogs to "store" information on).

just get the image you want on your computer screen via google maps, street view and press print screen key on your keyboard (PrtSc).
this will copy that image exactly as shown on your screen to your clipboard.
open microsoft word (or similar) and paste it onto a new blank document. it shows all info including date image was taken etc.

if you have win 7 or above there is a snipping tool in programs. you can then either save image or send to email recipient

I have indeed. Its Windows 7.

This sounds like it might be the easiest method for me.

    How do I:

    - get into programs
    - would the snipping tool be a link "snipping tool" I could click on and then have something there I could click on to say "snip", followed by something saying "do you want to email this? If so - give address"?

FWIW Street View allows you to look at old views, so even if they update the images you should still be able to view the old one(s).

You could also install CutePDF and then "Print" the webpage into a PDF file!

My suggestion has to be the easiest, but it is entirely dependent on if you have picasa installed. If you have, open picasa then minimise it (so it is in the task bar), then use streetview. When you have the desired location you wish to save, simply press PrtSc key along the top of keyboard, then the frame is saved in Picasa. Picasa will automatically create a folder and call it Screen grabs or something like it. I have to go out now, but will go through procedure on my return to be more exact.

The Snipping Tool is by far the easiest, as it's always available and you are able to 'snip' just the area of the screen that you want (eg not window headings etc). In your case, you could ensure just the property and the date are included in the shot, for example. Print Scrn always includes a lot of stuff you don't want or need.

You'll find it under 'Start, All programs, Accessories'. If you find it useful, it's best to right-click on the command and click 'Pin to Start Menu', then it will always be handy.

Thanks for that it was new to me. I looked up how which you didn't mention - look for a clock icon and click it.

Seconded - that's what I did the first time I used it.
