Hi, I am a newbie looking for help. My mum parked in a free carpark in Scotland and received a parking notice in November, I did a lot of reading on forums and told her to ignore it. She received another letter in Feb and we ignored that one, now she has a letter from DRPL asking for £150.00 or it might go to legal recovery. Letter is coming to my dad as he is the registered keeper, do we pay this??

"legal recovery" would entail taking the owner to court , and proving they were driving at the time
Scotland did not adopt part of the new parking laws in 2012 , basically do not contact by phone or letter and admit to driving0 -
Take no notice of anything you get from Debt Recovery Plus, they are scammers and liars who will bully you if you contact them and try to if you don't.
Eventually they will give up after YOU cost THEM money for letters and postage.;)0 -
Thanks guys, I thought there was a difference as it was in Scotland. My mum and dad are in their 70's and I would hate to think that I had caused them to be going to court, they are already really worried about the letters. They want to go ahead and pay the money.0

In Scotland??? :rotfl: There's no PPC that's gone the whole way (although, from distant memory, there may have been just one with multiple PCNs - someone will correct/confirm).
A couple have threatened, but chickened out well before any real action commenced.
G24 is not one of them - they've never even tried it in England, where they would have a significantly better chance of success.
Someone tells me that to take things to court, G24 would have to fill out some forms ...........Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
