    My mum had been through the war and she was always reciting:
    use it up,wear it out
    make it do or do without

    (and now I find myself saying it - do we always turn into our mothers?!!)
    It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!

    I take this to mean don't buy shoddy rubbish because it will break down. I'm sure car boot bargains are allowed ;)

    We always had the reply of "cow cake and custard"....I've said it to my kids a few times now and they look at me as if i've gone mad!
