A few have come up in threads recently and I wondered which old adages you were brought up that still ring inside your head and remind you of thrifty ways to behave
For example:
Next ....
For example:
- Waste not, want not
- You can't make a silk purse out a sow's ear
- Neither a borrower nor a lender be
- Take care of the pennies and the pounds will take care of themselves
- Money doesn't grow on trees
- You can't take it with you when you die
- Rather be skint than have nowt
- A fool and his money are soon parted
- What the eye doesn't see they heart doesn't grieve over
- Money can't by happiness
- All things come to those who wait
- Never let your possessions, possess you!

A few I can remember are:
Where there's a will there's a way.
When the going gets tough, watch the tough get going.
Pride goes before a fall.
Don't get above your station in life.
