That's great that you have rescue hens, I'd love to do that but I'm not sure how they'd fare with my cats. I know you have to shut them up at night because of foxes which can't actually get into our garden as I 'tried' to cat proof it so ours couldn't get out onto the busy road/railway line. After spending nearly £2,000 on PVC fencing they can't climb and putting up PVC trellis on the wooden gate on their very first outing into the new garden one of them scaled the trellis in a Spider-Man like fashion and squeezed herself through one of the diamond shapes to get out so I had to take it down for her own safety!
I think mine would eat cats for breakfast - my small dog is certainly very wary of them :rotfl: They do need protecting from foxes though, and larger, less wimpy dogs, and chicks (babies) as opposed to adult hens would be at risk from cats.
I think we are reasonably soundproof Bob, or as much as possible with a 100 + year old house. We have replacement double glazing, but tend to have the window open at night when it is warm. All fine except for when folk decide to have shouting matches just outside in the early hours :mad:
The rubbish - I just go out with my marigolds and a bin bag and pick it up. My neighbours do as well, which keeps it looking ok (it is an attractive road, tree lined, with all different styles and ages of houses, many of which are much grander than mine, which is just a terrace). The street cleaner doesn't come out this far - we are about a mile from the centre of a very little town, so we all muck in - or out, I suppose if I am being literal :rotfl:0 -
Bet that doesn't stop your council tax falling due though hey! Rubbish collection should still be done in my opinion." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

If anyone has Tesco Orchard £4 off steak vouchers (minimum spend £4) don't buy from the front of the store where the beef packs are £3 each and you'd need to buy two packs and put £2 to it....go to the beef aisle where most of the packs are £4.
<Sorry vegetarians.>

Hi all
I have been awol this weekend due to being completely immersed in decluttering/kondoing. We have a huge hall cupboard which is completely stuffed full of camping gear. We bought a folding camper a year ago but I dont want to part with the rest of the gear, even though its not needed, and I cant explain why.
I need to set a date within the next month to do a car boot sale and get rid of it all. Its silly to have so much unnecessary stuff sitting in a cupboard.
Anyhow, this weekend I have:
Taken drinks and snacks to cricket
Been out for a cheap night out and drove home
Planned and cooked meals so no trips to the supermarket0 -
More gardening for me today. I did spend money though. £11 on the books I need for a short course in June. I can't bring myself to give myself a hard time about spending money on books. Yet!Total debt at 18.9.17 £1950
