You are overreacting.
You really do talk the most unadulterated piffle, don't you?
OP and several others have been put to a great deal of inconvenience because, not only did the postman break the rules, he was also too lazy to mitigate his actions by leaving a card.Of course you have every right to complain, and as mentioned he'll probably lose his job.
One would hope that he would get a warning for a first 'offence'.
I have a strong suspicion that RM will not sack posties for this unless the get multiple complaints. And maybe next time you make a genuine mistake whilst trying to be helpful karma will do the same to you?
It was hardly a 'mistake'.
He deliberately and knowingly broke the rules and didn't even have the courtesy and good sense to let OP know that the goods were there.
I would very much hope he wouldn't lose his job but he does need to be made aware, in no uncertain terms, that his behaviour was completely unacceptable. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -

I found out the hard way, that garages locks are useless. You don't need to pick the lock, they can be opened with nothing more than a thick bit of card.
Invest in a padlock and hasp0 -
I'd much rather he'd have stuck a card through the door asking me to collect the parcel from the local office, which coincidentally is a 5 minute walk or a minute in the car from my front door so not exactly a hardship in terms of collecting it from there.
How he's managed to get into the garage isn't really the point. He shouldn't have left it in there and worse still he certainly shouldn't have been signing for delivery on my behalf.
You can Opt-Out of the delivery to neighbour scheme.
This should mean undelivered items go back to the sorting office.
But dealing with a postman who thinks breaking& entering is fine to deliver, who knows.
With one of those stickers displayed you'd have even more grounds for complaint, although IMO you have plenty already.0
