Friday 15th May - What small DFW things will you do today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free. :money:
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important! :money:

Good morning all
FVD - Glad you paid us a late night visit, sounds a bit political between your bosses and you. I didn't know Gatwick had a zoo. You learn something new every day.
Thanks for the thread Ally. Have my fingers crossed for your contract extension.
Rushing off out in a moment. Today will be attempting NSD 10.
Have a call this morning with the ombudsman to discuss progress on my case. I am pretty impressed with the new guy and the things he's done so far so quite looking forward to that convo.
see you later all.

Hello all,
I have been quietly plugging away with YNAB and debt repayment. Pleased to say that I have only £224 on my Barclaycard, which will disappear at pay day, and I have a chunk of an emergency fund too. I can taste debt free life and it tastes better than any food!
Today I'm out for a friend's birthday meal, but shouldn't be too expensive as I'm not drinking. This weekend should be no spend after that.
Hope everyone has a good Friday!0 -
Morning all
Hope the phone call with the Ombudsman goes well Bob, and fingers crossed for Ali's contract extension
List for today:
Eggs from hens for breakfast (done)
Check banks
Bread maker on
Finish putting odd auction items away
Take some fresh items to sales unit, as I didn't brave the pouring rain yesterday. Might need to take the car, as the items I have ready are quite bulky and heavy
Fortnightly Ocado delivery at lunchtime
Make a list of things I will need to pick up at Lidls at some point (because they are cheaper / just as good as Ocado) - surprising how many things aren't... They certainly can't beat Ocado's 49p broccolli!
Think about where the large pots for the tomato plants, beans, courgettes etc will be sited, and work out how much more compost we will need to buy.
Possibly buy compost while out - see how I get on
HM meals - soup made from yesterday's leftover roasted butternut squash and Thai curry sauce for lunch, and sausages, mash and onion gravy for supper
Right, more coffee needed first I think!
Hope you all have a good day0 -
Wow, congrats on your impending debt freedom Ratison :j :T0

Morning all,
Today is going to be a spending day I'm afraid as I have the dentist and hygienist this afternoonBut it is budgeted for and I do get to go shopping to buy some bits and pieces for work with work money afterwards - just need to avoid spending anything myself!
- Cinema tonight and only need to pay for ticket as have already bought cheap popcorn and sweets :T
- All meals from stores
- FPL and surveys still to check
- I want to budget for a sewing course at my local college starting in September so will work out how I can do this. I have a lovely sewing machine sat at home that I don't use and I love programmes like the Great British Sewing Bee! I'm hoping to release my inner Stella McCartney and one day make my own clothes!
