  • Today I was going to stop at the shop to buy lunch but didn't.

I'm going to take back some items to Matalan so that should be £25 back in my bank account.

I have one item to post at the post office but the person who bought the item paid postage so that isn't a spend.

I'm going to put any change i have into my sealed pot which currently has £31 in it as i counted all my change from another pot yesterday and put it in the sealed one.

As well as the above, I've done the ironing (switched off for last two items)
I've had a reply from a complaint I sent to Sainsbobs last night (they had promised me a £2 e voucher last week after a damaged item in my delivery which I didn't receive) and they have now sent me a £5 voucher. I wasn't planning on doing another online shop with them though as I am signed up to Mr T delivery saver but earlier in the week they'd sent through some other offers which with this £5 means I will do another order :)

hope everyone else is having a good day.

    Hi all

Had a good shop at Li@l on the way home, freezers and cupboards nicely stocked up. Mind you I have £60 left in the food budget now so will have to be careful. Shepherds pie cooking away in the halogen oven for tea.

Going to attempt some more kondo-ing in my bedroom tomorrow, shoes and handbags. Will see if there is anything worth ebaying.

Got some more tax work to do which needs to be finished this weekend, just need to think of the extra pennies!

DS2 needs some cricket trousers, will have a look on the internet to see where I can get some cheaply.

    Hi all,
Good luck with the ombudsman & contract, Bob & Ally.
Rattison - great on the nearly-gone debt. It's such a fab feeling to make that final payment.
Bit of a weird day today but have kept the frugal faith:
*Cleaned entire house using minimal products which included the dregs of one of the 'Use it up' items I found festering in the back of the cleaning cupboard earlier this week.
*Washer loaded with household linen for cheap overnight wash.
    *Watered veggies.
*Car park in town has put its charges up but I had an appointment & didn't leave sufficient time to park at Waitrose & walk. Must remember next time. Paid minimum I could get away with.
*Bought 2 bags of onions, a huge cauli & big cabbage from local farm stall on market for about £3.
*Managed to replace knackered part of cafetiere instead of buying a new one. Supported local business too, cheaper than buying online & no postage to pay either.
*New Co-op opened on my route home. Called in for a few items. Anyone spending min £15 could have a 'free breakfast bag'. Wasn't sure what this entailed but heard the magic f-word. What a great freebie!! It contained 1 pack sausages, 1 pack bacon, 1 unsliced loaf from local bakery, 1 tin of baked beans & a full sized carton of orange juice.
    *Updated freezer list.
*Tweaked meal plans for next week.
*Baked onion & rosemary foccaccia & lemon muffins and hardboiled some eggs for our picnic tomorrow. Muffins looked a bit boring so I made some lime icing & slarmed them with that. Much better!
*Mr f's cooking night. He's making veggie spag bol, so free leisure time for me. Reading & watching a recorded TV prog, I think.
I really don't know where May has gone, let alone this week! Ok, I'm off down the garden to put my plants to bed.

Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
Lovely to see you back Ratty :) And doing so well as well! You and Ally are so inspiring. And of course those of you already on the other side of the fence (waves to our DF neighbours Dawn, Ziggy, Foxgloves & FVD)

Princess - I always loathe paying the £40 our hyginest charges for a clean. I actually got lucky the last time I went. Im on a MAT exemption at the moment. So I booked my check up, & hygienst. Attended both appointments. No one asked me to pay at any point. About a month later I got a letter saying I had £40 outstanding on my account. Anyway I called them, and in the end they relented. I said, no one asked me to pay at any point pre, during or post the appointment, so they said it was their bad. Fair dos.

Twiggy -I actually just said YUCK outloud to your car bill. So sorry :(

ESBM - Hope you get a nice fat rebate :)

Hannah - Have a lovely time tonight, you really deserve it. Well done on your voucher win as well! There was a very interesting show on Watchdog about how rubbish Asda are at delivering the right items. They substituted nappies for chorizo for one customer!

Honeypooh - Well done on all your good small things today!

NFM - Good luck with your studies. Er pro plus with a side order of coffee??

    Yorkshire
    - Good luck with the tax stuff, as you say, think of the benefits.

Foxgloves - Wow what a lovely free treat that breakfast bag sounds. I used to bake focaccia, its so nice isnt it, very easy too I found. Mine used to be black olive with rosemary. Maybe I will have to resurrect that habit now you've prompted me.

Well. Me today it did turn out to be a personal NSD 10/20 today was decent in the business, but this week as a whole has been one of the worst since we reopened. No reason I can think of. So hoping next week we'll be back to full strength, and I've planned a few things to lure in people as well.
I had the most brilliant conversation with the ombusman rep. I found his knowledge of the situation excellent, his attitude to me sympathetic & he gave insight to how things might be for the adjustor as well, which I hadnt thought of. So, all in all 10/10. Apparently the way it works now is they close the complaint, allow the business concerned to make good the situation, whilst also making them aware that the Omb havent gone away for good, but are sitting back & letting them do the right thing. I feel more hopeful now for a good outcome on this stage. Once this is done, the ombuds then reopen the complaint, and will deal with the final stage, which concerns the customer service I have recieved throughout. I had no idea just how long & intricate this all would be, so just going along with it now & hoping for a good outcome.

Right well we all know where Im off too dont we (sounds like bloody enormous bubble bath..)

I said OUCH myself! Just got home - walked a mile, got the bus but decided to get off early and walk the other mile and half rather than go to the bus station to get the second bus. So £2.20 saved and after I'd passed the stop I would have got off at, the bus I would have got pulled up meaning I also got home quicker!
