They are now quoting £93.49 for Euro cover and when I phoned I was told that's correct and it was possibly a mistake all that time it was £58.90 - VERY annoying as you couldn't buy it before a month in advance of the start date, so I've missed out

I've just bought Euro cover for £50.37. I was quoted this online, but called to check it was cover for any driver (it is), and ended up buying it over the phone. My car is 4 years old, maybe this is the difference?

Same problem here - 9 year old car, Kwik-Fit have quoted me £93.49 both online and over the phone...
  • could be worse, i've just been quoted £153 for a 13 year old car to cover our weeks holiday to France (owned by me from new so i know it reliable as its been serviced every 6,000 miles):(
If you can keep your head when all around you are losing theirs, its just possible you haven't grasped the situation ;)

I rang Kwik-fit who I am currently with, paid £28.95 last year for my 4 year old car. Renewal documents I just received quoted £84.99 for the renewal!! So I checked for some prices online & even the most expensive quote was only £62.43!!

I rang them to tell them I was going to cancel and they said ok we can do it for £28.95 again!

Told them if they send me a renewal again next year with a silly price I will definitely be not renewing with them again as they keep wasting my time! grrr
  • Had Kwikfit breakdown cover last year. Fortunately didn't need to call them out. Unfortunately when they sent the renewal through for this year they hiked the premium from £28 to £85. My car is only four years old. They didn't seem bothered when I told them I wouldn't be returning for a second year. Beware.

Just received my renewal quote for Full UK & European cover for a 6 year old car. Quote was £87.99 up from £58.90 the previous year and I hadn't even used the service in the last 12 months! Have phoned KwikFit told them what the MSE website was quoting (£50.37) and after a bit of discussion and referral to a "manager" they agreed to renew at £50.37. So just saved myself £37.62 and even paid £8.53 less than last year, result! Worth making the phone call.
  • Bought Breakdown cover on line today (7 Sept) effective from 18 Sept.
BEWARE..Kwikfit will not allow you to access your Policy details or even provide a breakdown phone number, until the start day of your Policy. But they helped themselves in advance to the payment.

  • I can't get any mention of the £50 policy only for £93 despite my car being 8yo and not the 10+ MSE mention
