  • Any advice would be much appreciated. Just had confirmation that nram owe me almost £5000 made up if ppi end interest. Returned the acceptance letter and wondered if anyone had any experience of their payment timescales. They have quoted 28 days in their letter.

    Many thanks
  • You should get payment within 28 days.
  • Thank you. But I was hoping for someone with nram experiences to say if they got paid out any faster 😁😁

The experience of others in this regard is irrelevant. Expect it after Xmas and you won't be disappointed.

I was on First direct website six months ago to find out about some t & c's on my mortgage when I saw a link for PPI.

I knew I had PPI in the 90's on some loans I had to consolidate some debt and also a wedding loan. I reckoned at the time I had good in-job benefits : so would have been unlikely to ever be able to claim on the PPI but I realised it was likely outside the time window when it was covered by the regulations...

Nothing ventured, nothing gained. So I spent 10 minutes filling out the online form and forgot all about it. 6 weeks later they transferred over 6,500 into my account. Most of it was interest over the years.

Very happy with that outcome and really did not expect anything to result from my quick web form.

After reading a email newsletter from MSE regarding the PLEVIN ruling, I thought I’d give using Resolver a go and put in the barest of information. I just used all my addresses I had lived at since banking with Lloyds and really that was about it. I vaguely remembered a letter a few years back saying that I wasn’t mis-sold PPI on a loan I had - so Plevin case was most relevant to me.

Got two responses back from Lloyds with all the accounts it would look at. One claim had just one account on it and the other had several accounts noted.

About a week later I had a telephone chat with a friendly chap who asked me to recall what I could - which was very little to be honest.

A couple of weeks went by and I received a response for the one account stating that my claim for Plevin had been successful and was due £2100. Was thrilled with that, but did wonder why no mention of the other claim, but as it was still within the deadline for receiving a response, I was optimistic that I might be due some more.

Yesterday, the second response came through stating that they are upholding my claim for mid-sold PPI!?! This covered several loans and the redress owed to me is £20,800!! Turns out I had never claimed for PPI on these loans. WOW!

If you haven’t done anything about PPI or claiming Plevin if you have been rejected in the past - do it... do it now! Literally the whole thing took about 30 mins including the phone call. I had NO paperwork, NO account numbers and could remember very little details, and will now receive a total of £22,900 back!

Thank you MSE for giving me the nudge and the tools to achieve this it’s a huge amount of money!

    Excellent news-well done :)

  • I successfully claimed £3,458.21 from Barclaycard under the Plevin ruling. This was on a Barclaycard which I have had for 22 years. I simply completed an online form and 7 weeks later the money was in my account::j
  • After only 7 weeks received a faster payment into my bank account last night for £1247. They had written to me at the end of October saying ghey were revisiting my original complaint and without any high expectations the refund arrived. I have yet to see the paper work but think it goes back to 2001. With the nram payout of £5000 as well this is a good Christmas :money::xmassign::xmastree::xmastree::xmastree:
  • i had a clydesdale credit card and lost my job and defaulted,it was sold on but debt agency got banned by fca,so ppi claimed and advised but not obliged to contact debt agency,no agencies chasing debt any longer that was 12 years ago
