Hi can anyone tell me if I send my letter to the lending company, ie Ge money or do I send it to the insurance company?0
-
i sent off the 1st PPI letter to capital one about my credit card that was taken out in jan 2002, theyve since replied saying that as i was sold ppi over the phone the product is optional and was advised to me that they wont be paying anything back to me.
so ive just written the 2nd letter hoping for a better response.
anyone had any experience of C1 paying up?0 -
do i still continue to pay my monthly repayment whiles still going on with the reclaim chase ?0

My bank is saying that no matter what I was told or what I think I was told or if I believe I've been misled, they sent documents for me to read and it was my responisibility to read them and cancel PPI if I didn't agree with it.
I've sent 2 letters and this has been their response. Any reason to think the Financial Ombudman could see this differently?0 -
Can someone help please? Last week I received a letter from First Plus saying that they had not calculated a PPI refund correctly and that I was owed £770 odd. I had to return a letter with some details and they would process it. This was all news to me and had a reference number I didn't recognise - so I assume it was an old policy that I no longer have the details for. I figure I'll wait this one out.
BUT, I still have a loan with First Plus and my PPI was a whopping £14000! Now I'm reasonably sure that I wasn't given the option of having the loan without the PPI and also I wasn't aware initially that it was only for 5 years. Can I and should I try and claim for this and if so what would I be entitled to?? The original loan dates from 2003 but a new loan was taken out in 2005. Does that mean I have a claim against both?
HELP please!0 -
Has anyone had any successes from the Royal Bank of Scotland yet?
Hi
My husband sent a letter to the Royal Bank of Scotland on 29th August 2007 (downloaded from this site) asking for a copy of his original loan agreement for a loan which has been repaid.
The loan was taken out in Sept 2005, for £25K he paid £500 per month till August this year when the loan was repaid. The settlement figure was almost £23K which I can't believe as he paid around £9k to it.It makes me think that there must be some sort of loan protection possibly single premium.
To date not heard a thing from RBS going to give it another few days and write a letter saying that they have not replied and if we don't hear anything within 14 days we will go to the FO.

I've been trying to claim about £2800 back from MBNA since the end of August and have got precisely nowhere. They deny that they told me that they wouldn't give me the £15000 loan without the PPI which they damn well did and of course they don't have a copy of the tapes from that long ago to check! I was young(ish) and bloody desperate to pay off my debts so of course I agreed.
I have had numerous letters from them saying they were looking into it but it was taking a longer time than they thought.
I have now, just this morning, had a letter actually signed by their Vice President basically saying that this was their final communication and henceforth foxtrot oscar!
Has anybody else had any successes/failures with MBNA.
I'm at the end of my tether now, looks like it's the Financial Ombudsman as I can't see them backing down in the slightest.
Bar Stools is all I can say.
(Apologies for the strong tone but I got a cold and am really hacked off now!)

I got a Capital One credit card in 2003. After reading Martins guide about reclaiming PPI I looked at my statemenet and have found that I do indeed pay Payment protection insurance. I cannot remember asking for this and beleive I applied for the card on a pre-selection mailshot. I cannot find a signed agreement however.
Can I then try and claim as Capital One have already been fined?0 -
I took out a 12 year mortgage with Skipton ten years ago and was told that I must take out a mortgage protection insurance even though I did not see the need. I pointed out that if anything happened to my wife, that I could easily still make the payments and that if anything happened to me, then having worked for the same company for over thirty years at that time, that my wife would receive a considerable lump sum and widows pension. I was told that the mortgage protection was essential or I could not get the loan. Do you think that I would qualify to make a claim under this PPI mis-selling option, or are mortgages a different matter altogether? To date I have paid over £1800 for this "protection" that I did not need.0
