I claimed back with First Plus we borrowed £16k and we just successfully claimed back £4600.
Actually slightly off topic I offered to be used in publicity for the PPI (which I am perfectly happy with!) but since Friday I have had two strange phone calls from First Plus, totally pointless ones telling me interest has gone up 4 times in a year (Like I hadn't worked that one out!) and the other thing they kept talking about was cashback for taking out the PPI - which obviously I did not correct them.
I think they are nervous so anyone with First Plus have a go at claiming it back literally just the first letter for me!0 -
loans and mortgages are the same!!! wot u both is ppi in the end; so go for it they just break the law telling you the insurance was necesary in order to take the mortgage; so good luck with it :j
Question: anybody know if after i pay my loans with barclays i still could make a claim for the premium ppi they sold to me without telling me was just optional and was not necesary in order to take the laons with them??? already pay my loans in full 6 months a go!!!!!!
SPREAD THE WORD !!!!!!!! THANKS MARTIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:T0 -
Hi rayday,
Did you calculate how much they owed you in the initial letter?

hi in the past i have bought products from brighthouse but because i dont have contents insurance was told it was compulsary to have there insurance at an extra cost per week added onto my product.
is it possible to claim this back under these new ppi claims? i didnt want the cover but was told that i had no choice in store and on ringing the company.
reading through everybody elses cases the majority seem to be loans claims so im unsure on the viability of my claim and what the likelyhood of success is.
please help

hi all
hopefully someone can help me with something, im thinking of putting a ppi claim against yes car credit, due to misselling (telling me i had to have it) also not leeting me cancel it even when i had given back the car, putting it on my loan with interest. the thing is this Yes car Credit arent trading anymore, but i suspect the policy was taken out with a company called Direct Auto Financial Services, firstly would this affect my claim??????
secondly, as i knew they were in the wrong but didnt have all the information available that we have now, i just refused to pay, when they asked me to pay the insurance in full after i had given back the car. i recieved a letter a while ago, stating they had sold my debt on to another company, and to deal with them from now on, will this affect things also???
thanks all

Hi Rayday2,
Many thanks for your prompt reply....phew! I will send a letter, I have tailored it to what I would think would stand up in court.
I purchased the above policy from you on 7th June 2005 but now believe that I was mis-sold this Payment Protection Policy.
This is due to the fact that I was not given the correct information when the policy was sold to me, as:
· your salesperson did not tell me that the policy was optional and that I did not actually need to purchase the cover through First Plus.
· your salesperson did not give me full information on what the policy would and would not cover for example that the loan only covers the first five years of my loan term.
· I am concerned the sales assistant that sold me the policy has no financial background and the policy was not sold in my best interests.
Unless you can satisfactorily justify to me that the policy was fair and reasonable I am requesting a full refund of all premiums, and subsequent interest on these payments, that I have paid to date. As I believe I have been deprived of this money I also expect 8% statutory interest, the amount a court would award, to be added to each payment made.
I look forward to a full and prompt response to this letter and for the matter to be concluded with eight weeks or I shall be contacting the Financial Ombudsman to investigate my complaint.0 -
Well i am gutted
i have just checked my loan and it seems i have a single premium policy, so i have paid £7000 for insurance that I thaught covered the term, but only actually covers 5 years, why wasn't i informed of this....
my letter has just been sent, im fuming that i have paid £7000 for 5 years worth of cover, thing is i have cover in place with legal and general too, £10 a mth that costs for the loan term...
will i get the full £7000 back or will they take it off the loan amount with this sort of policy??0 -
Have just received a letter from halifax regarding my claim for ppi refund. In which it tells me that halifax did not sell the policy linked to my loan but a company called click finance Ltd. Having gone through my paperwork thoroughly there is no mention of this company any where and l did not think a company could disclose your information to a third party without permission. The paperwork clearly states the repayment cover is provided by the insurers, halifax insurance ireland Ltd. Therefore l contacted the financial ombudsman service and l am correct a company cannot pass your information to a third party without consent. I have informed halifax and await a response. So, if anyone else gets this, inform the ombudsman, cos they can't do it!
Hello myheaven,
Kindly let me know how you get along in this process. Even I have taken a personal
Loan with HFX and am in the process of reclaiming it from them. So, your posts regarding their response will be very helpfulCredit card debt:
