i am still waiting and i am getting fed up. I sent my letters to Barclays over 8 weeks ago and not heard a word back from them , what do i do now?
and i sent a letter to Barclaycard about PPI on my old credit card, over 8 weeks ago as well(account only closed 2006) and they wrote back to me about my existing credit card's PPI, which i cancelled myself, they talk one thing and i talk another, what do i do with that? Please help!!!!0 -
I contacted G.E Money about my mis-selling quoting about them being fined by the FSA - they said it only applied to policies purchased after 14 Jan 2005.
Is this correct?
Still think I was mis-sold anyway as it was 'done' in a shop and there was no way the shop assistant went through it all with a queue of shoppers behind me!0 -

£2083.00 + £242.00 8% interest from FirstPlus and lower monthly premiums:D Studio Cards paid off my account and gave me £125.00 in gift vouchers. £500.00 Barclays.0 -
Sorry i've been away on baby leave with my DW and am back at work. Take the example from daynurse and cocker100 don't accept compromise's if you are in the right FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT. Am currently deciding whether to send the Baliff's round to halifax's main office or not lol.:D0

Hi all,:j
If I could give any advice, it would be to stick to your guns and dont accept anything less than what you want. In any letters sent to your creditors quote the misrepresentation act as found in several previous posts. Remember, they have to prove that they never mis-sold you the policy, not you have to prove that they did.
Finally, I'd just like to thank everyone who has given me advice on this matter especially m.colak and tiggrae. Congratulation daynurse on your success today. You are a proper battler and would fight to the bitter end!!!

Am glad you've all managed without me sounds like i'm surplus to requirements now lol. I will say one thing on your case though. When i reclaimed against black horse and halifax i never stop phoning them at least once a day to remind them i'm still alive and wasn't going away. In your case i would get one person's name and try and build up a relationship with them so you can check in everyday just to find out the progress. It does help believe me and 9/10 times the person who you talk too actually agrees with your attempt to reclaim so be polite and considerate and it pays dividends in the end. I know its hard to be civil after them screwing you around but the last thing you need is to either get stressed out or lose you temper as it achieves nothing and you could take it out on your family (unknowingly). All i'll say for anybody reclaiming stay patient follow the right road to achieve your aims (either FOS or Moneyclaim) and don't hestitate to ask for help as its free and nobody will ever judge you on this thread.Else they'll have me to answer too as nobody is perfect (except my beautiful son).
On additional note make sure you make copies of everything you send and receive. Make a phone call log sheet with the name of the person that you talk to giving them a reference number too so you can reference the call as well as taking notes for yourself. Get yourself a box file and orginise yourself as things can get messy. Also write an index on the front so you know where everything is when you need it.0 -
Hi
I am having real problems with Welcome Car Finance and there PPI. I have a car loan with them, and have paid the amount and am now able to give the car back, as its not worth the rest of the loan agreement. I am allowed to do that however they want all the PPI paid until the end of the loan thats over £800 and won't do anything until that is paid. I am furious, are they allowed to that?? Should I pay it and then apply for a refund... I stuck, I don't know what to do!!No more spending hard - Time for the scrimping!0 -
Hi all,:j
Sorry to all of you who have been waiting for this response. I've known about the outcome for a couple of days, but just got written confirmation today and was waiting to get that before posting!
Well to get straight to the point - I'VE WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Finally got it in writing today, they are fully refunding the whole ppi premium with interest!!! Here's the paragraph that I've been waiting for:
"I have completed a review of the correspondence regarding your case and in order to resolve your complaint we would like to offer you a full refund of the insurance premium plus interest and propose to make the necessary adjustments to your loan account to put it in the position as is if the payment protection insurance policy had not been taken. This will mean a full refund of the insurance premium plus interest, and returning the part of your monthly payments made towards the payment protection insurance premium to you. The monthly payments due will then be rescheduled accordingly."
Wow! I cant believe it. The total premium was £11360. We have made 29 payments so far in the loan for the ppi for at least £106 per month. These had increased with the interest rate. When you add on the interest, that over £15000 refunded!!!!!!!!!!!!:j :j :j
Obviously, they make the offer with no admission of liability and merely as a gesture of goodwill!!! Goodwill, First Plus, yeah right!!!!!

Good luck to all of you who continue to fight. As for me, I've got LLoyd's TSB in my sights next. BEWARE!!!
:money: King Martin rules ok!

aww i hope i have the same success as you.We are asking for the telephone conversation as they are saying we weren't mis-sold.but how do i know that?
They could say anything ..plus offering 5k as a gesture of goodwill is to shut us up i expect.Anyway theses successes has brightened things up for me...i bet firstplus are crying with all the PPI claims and complaints they have recieved!!!
i await a reply to my 3rd letter.
well done all who have won!!!
enjoy your money!!!!Julie:p0 -
Hi all!!
I need a little help. I am having real problems with Welcome Car Finance, where I want to return the car after paying the amount they say. They are refusing to accept the car until I have paid up all the PPI of over £800, is this allowed? I'm really stuck and also very angry with them! Should I pay for it and then get a refund, or is it my fault for taking a loan out with them.No more spending hard - Time for the scrimping!0
