hi all,
I took out 2 loans (totalling about £10k & incl PPI) with NR in july 2005, I tried at the time to opt out of the PPI, but the person who i phoned at NR said I could not...so obviously i was between a rock and a hard place so I had to have it.
so i've drafted 2 letters based on the template that will go in the post tomorrow...
I've looked on this site and I have not seen an mention of NR loans wise, or any successes with claims against NR...
all comments are very welcome.. please..including if i'm wasting my time due to NR's current dilema..
thanks Tony0 -
Just a couple of real quick questions Tiggrae
Am I within my rights to ask for copies of the loan application and credit agreement? If the loan company cant provide me with these documents, what is the score?
Top man by the way for helping everyone out! Cheers :T
ps don't you mean top woman !!!:A0 -
Hi
I was hoping that someone could help me. Ive read through the forum, but can't find anyone with a similar problem to ours.
My other half and I are in a holiday club(a bit like timeshare). We took out the loans in Spain and Tenerife as there was a 3 month delay before having to make any payments, then when we got home we paid them off using either savings, or a loan company in Britain with a lower interest rate. The holiday company (Club La Costa) used GE Money for the loans and we have taken out 3 loans in the last 5 years.
The loans were all over a 10 or 15 year period, but the PPI only covered us for 5 years(which I only found out when I looked out the paperwork to reclaim).
We wrote to GE Money in December and received a reply reasonably quickly, saying they were looking into our PPI reclaim request. Within 10 days we received another letter from them stating that they had administered the accounts "in accordance with the information provided on the signed credit agreement" and that "as the supplier i.e Club La Costa UK Plc, sold this insurance policy to you, any questions as to the quality of the sale would need to be taken up with their offices directly".
It is shown on our loan documentation that the money is paid to GE Money and not Club La Costa, so should it be GE Money that we chase? And if so, then how do I now go about challenging their letter?
Any advice would be most gratefully received.
Thanks

Tracey,
I think you'll find some interesting information in these threads, I believe that it is 6 years after the last correspondence regarding the loan or from when it has been paid, not, from when it commenced.
Hope this helps.0 -
I wrote my 2nd letter to say I hadn't had a proper reply (an answer - they kept fobbing me off - with give us another 2 weeks etc)
They have replied telling me it has been passed onto another department, and sent me copies of the letters I have had fobbing me off. There is no address on these letters for the other department - what do i do now?Friends are angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly.0 -
Hi All
Hope I have posted this in the correct place.
Back in October I sent a PPI reclaim letter to Egg regarding two loans I used to have that I remember were sold on the basis that I would not be accepted unless I took the PPI. I used the template letter giving them 8 weeks, but it took 9 weeks for them to even reply, and say we are aware the 8 week deadline is approaching but we have yet been unable to resolve the issue, we will contact when we have resolved the issue etc. I responded asking for a deadline and instructing them I would be going to the ombudsman with the complaint if not resolved quickly. Took them 6/7 more weeks to reply we are looking for the tape of the phone conversation, understand 8 weeks have pass and my options are wait or go to the ombudsman, no deadline can be given.
What should I do, it seems that things are not moving? How do I go to the ombudsman, and will they speed the process up?
Thanks

HiI am a newbie and wondering if someone can help me with something.
I wrote to GE Money on 30 November asking for a list of all the insurance charges levied on my account and the original account opening form.
I received no response by 14 January so wrote to them again saying that they had now had over 40 days and if I didn't receive a response by return I would report them to the Info Commissioner.
They have now responded but I have received no account opening statement and only had charges from December 2002 and my account was opened in either 1998 or 1999. It isn't even going back the full six years if they are saying that but I have a sneaky suspicion that when I opened the account there was no insurance on it but they added it in December 02 and that is why this is the first date showing.
On top of that they have stated that due to a system error they have been unable to retrieve all the statements and have missed 18 insurance payment amounts off.
What I need to know is that since the account was opened more than 6 years ago should they still have the original account opening form and am I in a position to demand that they send me details of all the missing payments they claim they have lost.
any help would be appreciated so that I can write back to them.
Thanks
Good luck with everybody elses claims.0 -

Hi just registered today been a Martin Lewis addict for ever lol finally starting to take notice of my financial situation...another time me thinks anyway hope I am in the right place...started reading about PPI a while back and thought you know what I am having a dig out of all my stuff... here goes !! funny thing is I was searching to claim back mortgage payment when I discovered all this insurance lark... lol
Capital one card, had since 11/1999 couple of years ago realised huge amounts of insurance going out so phoned to cancel it, finally they agreed but big big pressure to keep it... so I'm thinking I won't come in to the 50,000 they apparently contacted regarding this so sent my letter Tuesday requesting my payments back...
Blackhorse bought Kitchen MFI through these couple of years ago was asked at time if I wanted insurance said no and that was that, although this was done through MFI sales person (she was lovely) couple of payments left...
Blackhorse Sofa's bought from DFS couple of years ago, was not asked about insurance, did not tick the box, and its quite clear from my agreement that the salesmen did tick the box...anyway when I discovered this insurance January last year took forever to find the people responsible to cancel the thing, it was through Pinnacle but I actually had to go through Blackhorse who finally cancelled it May of last year and I had said that I was unaware of the insurance and had not been asked about it etc etc... sent letter Tuesday with paperwork...requesting money back as they acknowledged I didn't know about it last year...
IGroup loans/Purple Loans now GE Money.... secured loan of £15,000 taken out end of 2002 (another board dodgy partner, had to get rid of him couldn't afford his debts anymore) can't remember a thing about the loan nothing at all... but when I remortgaged previous house in 2005 payment of £14,737 to clear said loan, considering payments of over £220 per month for 3 years only paid off £300 something not right... sales man came to my house, can remember vaguely that I had to have insurance against that amount to be offered the loan, although I advised self employed, desperate times didn't think..so no paperwork and on Tuesday sent off data request letter, because I was so precise on the figure paid to clear loan from solicitor (did mention that in my letter) don't think they are that sure what paperwork I have or have not... anyway this morning I received a letter requesting the £10 fee and obviously proof of my new address as no longer at secured loan address, and stating that they will send all relevent info to me within the statutory timescales, they sent the letter recorded, so today have sent what they asked for and will see...
so to Karenann and GE problems try this contact Kathy Lampard compliance officer (Assume PA responding) GE Money Servicing Ltd, Malvern House Croxley Business Park Watford WD18 8YF
This is the business this site, have balanced transferred and sorted loads, am determind to get whats mine and payoff what I don't want hanging around my neck, getting old now lol anyway another time another discussion...0
