Forgive me if this has been asked and answered. I have reviewed several pages of this forum and couldn't find anything strictly relevant.
The notes on mis-selling appear to deal with those who were sold PPI from a salesperson either in person or over a telephone. What about through the internet.
Many years ago I obtained an Egg credit card through an internet application. I no time did I speak to anyone live. Sometime later I discovered that I had accepted the PPI policy. I rang to ask for it to be removed but was told this was not possible. I accepted that.
I now believe this may be incorrect. Does anyone have advice on interent purchased PPI?
Many thanks,

It sounds like your ready to go and you have exhausted all reason with barclay's. The only thing i will say is be aware that going via the FOS will mean that the case will take a minimum of 3 months to get sorted. CHeck your financial position and how much the claim is for and then consider going via the small claims courts for quicker action. This isn't saying you would be better going via the courts its just saying that you still have that option. I would send another letter to barclay's about your decided course of action and as tiggrae states (very wise person) utilise the 1967 misrepresentation act as its there for our protection.
THank you for answering my post. Just quick question when would I throw in the misrepresentation act of 1967 and also court action?. As I mentioned I have sent letter to Barclays giving them 2 wks to give final decision saying after that I will be going to FOS - Any suggestions
THanx in advance
p.s. sounds like your gonna be a daddy very soon from what I am reading - good luck to all of you x0 -

The 18 months is the 18 months of payment you made to the bank not the collections agency. It's at this time that the bank should have passed the loan over to the agency minus the PPI element as it was no longer valid or applicable. At this point it's the bank's error for passing the debt incorrectly onto the collections agency. The collections agency are enforcing you to carry on paying the PPI so its at this point you have to claim against the collections agency whom in turn will then have to claim against the bank. Sounds complicated but is no different then someone having a car go into the back of them and then someone going into the back of that car. Hope this helps. If you have confirmation that you didn't apply for PPI and then proceeding the results from a telephone conversation you were then you are in a better position to prove misselling as the contents of the conversation can't be proven one way or another.
Once again thank you very much.
Now I understand what I need to do, I'll will be setting the ball in motion soon and will let you know how I get on.0 -
Quick question, my reclaim for PPI with First Plus is with the FO, I have received another letter saying that my case is still waiting to be signed to an advisor, and it could take 9 months (or joy of joy) anyway got a letter from First Plus yesterday and I was thinking maybe they are going to settle themselves or something but no even though interest rates have fallen slightly they are still putting my monthly premium up by £7.00 (not much I know but over the last 3 years it has risen by over £40.00.) Now every time the interest rates have risen they have increased my payment (which I understand) but why are they still putting it up when the rates have come down:mad: I know it is the same for everyone I am just hoping it is not because I am chasing them for a misold PPI anyone else had the same bit confused and not happy that the whole thing may take 9 months and I am concerned that they are taking more money off me for a reason I don't understand. Interest rates up payments up interest rates down payments down was what I thought.Claimed back almost £4000 so far from HSBC for mis-sold PPI
£2083.00 + £242.00 8% interest from FirstPlus and lower monthly premiums:D Studio Cards paid off my account and gave me £125.00 in gift vouchers. £500.00 Barclays.0 -

Last question of the night. The problem as we stated before with going to the FOS is the length of time. The average time quoted is between 6-9 months which is why in most case's the advice is to go via the courts. If you are tired of waiting you can still pursue the claim through the courts the FOS just ask that you inform them. Remember the small courts will only pay up to £5k.0 -

I wrote to HSBC, to claim back the PPI on my credit card, based on the fact that I was not given the correct information when the policy was sold to me. Whilst the HSBC [/font]are unable to locate the original application, they are saying that I must have been aware of the policy, as the policy would not have proceeded without my agreement.
Can anyone advise what I should do as the next step? Thank you.0
