Husband has had a credit card with Lloyds TSB for many years, we cannot actually remember how long but i remember using the 2nd card issued to me when our son was toddling and he is now 11. Felt we were mis-sold ppi so sent first letter in October also asking to cancel ppi anyway as Husband was now self employed, received a letter back saying the usual will look into it, recieved 2nd letter off them saying they required more time so i assumed they were looking through their record to find out exactly when we opened the cc account, and possibly to find evidence of the ticked box, well had a letter today frankly saying "sod off" and that since your policy was purchased your product after the FSA Insurance Conduct of Business Rules started to apply in 2005. As a result at the time the PPI was sold to you, Lloyds TSB was required (and did) have in place a process to ensure you were provided at point of sale with fair and balanced information. The payment protection cover policy document which you would have received.
Well firstly it was definately WELL Before 2005, yet we have no documents to prove as i tend to shred!! and also since 2005 we have not received any updated bumf from them only the usual cc statement for the last ?? years or so. We really feel this is a standard fob off letter as nothing personal regrding my husbands account is in it plus why did they take an extra 8 weeks if they claim we have had the policy less than 3 years!! surely they would have sent the documentation as proof that my husband signed? PLUS since October they are still charging PPI even when the letter said that he was self employed and to cancel it as it was worthless!! Shall we send second letter or send a letter asking for copies of all the statements since accounts was opened? If they think we are quitting......they may well be right:eek:DFW NERD....560

Fill in the N1 County Court claim form and send it to them as 'a courtesy' saying you'll send it to the courts and commence proceedings if you don't have a more positive response
we were told ppi was compulsory to get loans so would this be the right road to go down ..thanks for any advise

Been fobbed off by natwest again!!!!
Keep getting a letter saying they need more time and to give them 2 weeks, when the 2 weeks is up i get the same again - getting really annoying now!Friends are angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly.0 -
Natwest did that to me for a long time eventually they said s*d off your not getting anything so I am now with the FOS taking a long time compared to FOS dealing with some credit card charges that they delt with in a matter of a month. (I got the full amount from Capital one!) :T
I am also now doing another PPI reclaim on a telephone loan I took out just over 6 years ago all paid off now but thought it was worth a try! - sent 1st letter waiting for response!
Good luck!0 -

Stick to your guns as most banks and companies rely on people not claiming it back or exhausting them to the point they give up. What i would suggest is you send the second letter stating again your position. The company has to either cancel the PPI policy if you have written to them or a least aknowledge the fact that you wish too. If they refuse and say its a condition of the credit card then you have a clear aknowledgement of mis selling the card to you as this wasn't made clear to you previously. The fact the policy was sold to you previous to 2005 has no clear issue's except that you can't go down the FOS route (to tell you the truth it is a long process either way). You're next option is to start working out how much you should receive back adding the percentage for interest and getting ready to take it through MCOL. This unfortunately is the only way the companies know that you are going to fight them.0 -

You have too choices here.
1. Go to the FOS and say that you aren't happy with the delaying tactics being carried out by the bank.
2. Send a letter to the bank saying that they have exhausted your patience and you belive they have had more than adequate time to investigate, to that end if you don't receive a satisfactory response in 14 days you will be taking court action. The fill out a N1 form and send them a copy to show that you are prepared to play hard ball.0 -
Hello yes this would make it a single premium policy.Jen0
