  • to the reason i came on this thread was the fact that in August i wrote to Lloyds bank in regards to a loan and PPI my husband took out in 2003 with Goldfish, he was self employed at the time, six months into the loan i had a lighbulb moment to the fact that it did not cover him and requested it be cancelled, which they did but only refunded half of the original total. They have now written back saying they are still investigating but it is over the time limit and if i wish to go the FO i can do, but given the year am i better taking it them court or is there anything else i can do, as luck would or wouldn't have it, i sent them a recorded letter yesterday saying i would take them to court for misrepresentation if i had not heard anything in 7 days. Which route is the best now?

Hi there, you can take a complaint to the FOS but only about the fact they are now in breach of the statutory complaints procedure - as for the main mis selling claim, the wouldn't be able to take that the FOS but could go to the County Courts

I understand where you are coming from GT568 but I wonder what you would do in my position.

I would answer the question; are you only going to let people use your information if they use your firm?

  • I had a reply from picture stating that i should have read the policy document and all the information was laid out their re their PPI. My argument is that I have suitable cover through my employment and if I knew that the cover only lasted 5 years and interest would be added for the full term of the loan and only really covered me and not my wife, I would not have signed up. Do I have a claim as this was stated in the documents or due to not paying due attention have I blown my claim. They seemed to put so much effort into the fact that you will receive 50% of the payment back after 5 years, what they dont say is that this will be less than the interest charges on the PPI for the full term.

    Guys,
This is getting silly. Peter, I would like to thank you for your expertise in which you offer. I understand that if you let the cat out of the bag so to speak the info you hold would be deemed pretty useless. I am happy to take up your services as it is of no cost to me and saves me the time, hassle and worry. seems to make sense.

    GT,
If you dont wish to use peters services, fine. Dont have a go at the guy for helping others if you feel you are better equip to do this alone.
This forum is to support people and to give confidence, not to rip apart those with knowledge, even if they do not wish to share.

Now come on guys, enough sillyness.

Everyone else, good luck with your claims be it with or without the knowledge key.

What he does is up up him and rightly so. I am not ripping him apart.

However I do not feel that MSE is the correct place to be looking for business. That is not the nature of the site, simple as.

Cool thank you Lisa. But payment is not necessary. As the borrower is invariably the victim here and the injured party, legally, any costs for the work carried out to recoup monies owed as redress are levied to the rightful party, the lender. Each case is challenged simply on the law of the land based on Case law and appeal court decisions.
