I sent my first template letter to them and had a reply back after about 6 weeks to say they were looking into this. About 6 weeks ago after ringing them, they informed me that they were trying to locate the call where I alleged I was mis-sold my PPI. Once they have traced it then they can either uphold or reject my complaint. I should have had a reply by now but thought I would give it another week before I chased. They said that all complaints are being dealt with in date order. I suspect they have quite a few! Is anyone else waiting for a reply from Egg? If so I look forward to hearing from you.
Hi,
Have received a letter from egg today after 4 weeks, saying they are still investigating and will get back to me as soon as possible, and thanking me for my continued patience.
I had a £10000 loan from egg in june 05, which was paid off in sept this year. .the total paid was over £13000 for the priviledge including a single premium ppi policy and interest... I was also made to believe I could not have the loan without the ppi....well guess, i'll have to wait for the next letter.. Has anyone had a satisfactory reclaim from egg?0 -
I recieved the standard fob off letter today from black horse, saying it wasnt mis sold enclosing a copy of the executed CCA. I was claiming as i believed it was mis sold as i was told that i would be refused credit without it
Can anyone advise on the next step?

Dear Martin
I have treid templates etc and telephoned your program however what I would like to know if possible is why does Halifax/Bank of Scotland totally refuse to answer any letters even with the threat of court, so I have had to put this into the hands of the fianacial ombudsman etc. Why when they get business do they want to rip every one off at the moment or has someone won against them yet?

Silly question
Has anyone claimed on PPI but still made a complaint for the mis-selling of the PPI.
In other words, you took out a loan, PPI was forced on you, you then wrote to cancel the PPI & told you you can't cancel or refused to respond to your letters???
Money saving is now a way of life:cool:0 -

Hi,
has anyone got any experience of trying to reclaim PPI from Capital One? I have been trying to reclaim but have been met with dismissive responses. I find the prospect of going to the FSA a bit daunting as my concentration isn't what it could be these days.
I took out PPI in 2003 when I was actually on leave from work suffering from depression. To be honest I don't know how, or why I agreed to it as I subsequently realised I was already covered by an Accident, Sickness and Unemployment policy linked to my mortgage so I would normally have said a firm "no". I did get a copy of the policy and fully intended to cancel it once the free term had expired, (I believe that was 30 days or so). but overlooked it. I was then diagnosed with cancer in March of the same year and remember reading the policy which stated that I couldn't claim for that until the policy was 3 months old, (or so I think), which it would have been by that time. So I didn't claim as life was something of a whirl with immediate surgery and devastating treatment.
Once I finally got my head together I 'phoned Cap 1 and asked them if I could cancel the policy. The Customer Service bloke told me I had to contact the number on the policy, (which I couldn't find in my chemo brain state), as it was a different company to them. More treatment followed and still I couldn't get Cap 1 to cancel my policy. I even tried to do so on their website but never got a reply.
To cut a long story short, I am still paying on this policy and have asked Cap 1 to refund the payments etc. They are maintaining a stance of 'Yes we were fined for mis-selling but we won't give you your money back'.
Any suggestions as to how to proceed with this would be much appreciated.
Thanks x0 -
