Fuming - details set out in email

My daughter is a member of a sports club and has been for many years. Today I got an email sent to all members saying my card had been declined and I owe last months subs (a very small amount)
I'm livid as I had advised the office that my card had been replaced and she was too busy to handle it, I've been in twice and she's been on leave, and it's no ones business. It's between her and me.
Not sure there is anything I can do about it - maybe when I calm down I should drop her an email. Just venting.

Send her an email calling her out as unprofessional.
It's very embarrassing.
Last year I had a card stopped because it was used to pay for something online I didn't order (fraud).
The bank sent me a new card, but by accident I was still carrying the blocked card in my wallet.
Cue me going into a petrol station in a rush for work, huge queue behind me and without thinking handing the cashier my old card who then took great delight in pointing out "oh your card was declined by the bank due to lack of funds"
Well... no actually I've just handed you the wrong card you cretin.
Was embarrassing as hell.0 -
Perhaps try the below email if you're looking for something formal/to get your point across;Dear XYZ,
I have just read the email to all members you have sent out, which oddly mentioned that my card had been declined.
I find it extremely unprofessional that details such as that have been sent "to all" rather than in private communication with myself.
My bank card was recently replaced, I have been into your office twice since getting it replaced, but on both occasions you where on leave. This is the ONLY reason it has declined on your system - as I've been unable to update the details with yourself.
I trust in future you will carefully consider what you write on emails that are sent out to all members, and keep private details such as financials strictly need-to-know.0 -

You'd call someone else a cretin for your mistake? Odd.
OP, contact the sender and let them know their mistake, I'm sure they'll apologise. My gym once sent out a group email with everyone's weight, medical conditions etc on it - not the best but it was followed by a prompt apology.0 -

I was under the impression that the tills don't give a full reason for rejecting a card, for example:
I'm a Nationwide customer with 2 FlexAccounts (1 is my main current account, the other I use only for eBay and PayPal as a security precaution).
I went to my branch and asked to cancel and re-issue a card for my second FlexAccount since I'd lost it somewhere in the house. So, this was done and seemed to be fine.
Later, I went to do my weekly food shop and wanted to pay with my first FlexAccount's card, but it was declined: the lady at the till just said that my card had been declined and gave it back to me (shops aren't allowed to keep your card if this happens unless they have secure disposal facilities to do so, this was confirmed to me by Nationwide).
Luckily, I had my card for Mrs MbW and my joint Halifax account and paid with that.
When I called Nationwide Customer Services later, they confirmed that the first card had been cancelled and not the second, so they had to sort that one out for me.0 -

How lovely you are. You made a mistake but you chose to call someone else highly offensive language.
I assume that you dont actually know what this word means or why it in unacceptable to use it.June challenge £100 a day £3161.63 plus £350 vouchers plus £108.37 food/shopping saving

To the OP ... if that info truly was on an email copied to all members then I'm sure that's a breach of the Data Protection Act.0

I obviously didn't call her a cretin in the shop.
But she did enjoy loudly announcing "oh your card was declined by the bank due to lack of funds" in a know it all smart !!!! tone, when that clearly wasn't the case.
No you used highly offensive language on a public forum. You obviously thought it even if you didn't say it out loud.
She would have just been telling you what the till said- doing her job. But you feel the need to think offensive thoughts about her and slag her off.June challenge £100 a day £3161.63 plus £350 vouchers plus £108.37 food/shopping saving

As this was not verbalised then you should really have said think of rather than call ... that poster did not call anyone anything.
Cross-posted.
Of course you are holier-than-thou and would never think bad thoughts about anyone.
Oh ... hang on ...................0 -
