Good evening tweets thankyou for these lovely pics of your Poppy as they have made me smile also the one re David living under my new Arbour whilst I was away;) As for the nasty comments re my DDLala which I found to be totally uncalled for as I know the truth behind this and have broad shoulders as does she .Live and let live is Nannylala's motto as life is far too short:eek:

Most has been done by me, lots of info from my late mum and dad to start me off. Visits to St Catherine's (London) for records, births, deaths etc. as my family hail from Newcastle/Northumberland and I now live in Suffolk so couldn't source information locally.
Of course this was years back before information was online. I am a member of Ancestry and have found several bits of useful information there.

I bought Family Tree Maker from Tesco Rewards for £19 this also gives you 6 months free Ancestry membership. I normally buy to cover the winter months, something to do during the long dark nights. This gives me spring and summer to do other research as and when I want.
Easy for me as my family are all grown up so no urgency for school runs and child care, but good luck to you. Once you start you will become addicted

I started researching my family history on Paternal side (my maiden name) when we moved down to Peterborough in '85. When on courses for work in London, I would go to St Catherine's House, and then traced family back to Manningtree/Mistley Hall in Essex from 1805, prior to that in Suffolk, oddly enough altojack, around Rendlesham/Pettistree. Got back to 1722 but hit a dead end with recorded destroyed at parish needed. But I used to love doing it

This was before computer software

Cherish those you have in your life because you never know when they won't be there anymore.

Printed off my order and received a confirmation email but not a text to say it was ready for collection, went into store anyway they could find no record of my order :( she took my order to go and phone customer services to check with them, came back with 4 boxes, but could not find a way to get the tills to to register as £2.56 as they were 2 for £10. After about 10 minutes she told me i could have them as a gesture of good will:D was getting my £2.56 out my purse she said NO, JUST HAVE THEM FOR FREE :T

It continues got a text tonight from pets at home to say my order was ready for collection !! we were laughing about it wondering if DH dare go in to collect it, when I got a phone call from the store to apologise that it was out of stock, just thanked them for letting me know, thought I better not say that is because your colleague gave it to me for FREE this afternoon :rotfl:
