Getting any of mine home is like trying to cling onto a wet wriggling fish so even before they are through the door I ask how long are they back for - eldest son was back one weekend but was actually only in the house half an hour - only to leave washing and to collect clean underwear and socks and then off he went to his mates and then to the girlfriend etc

I've been thinking all day how it will work, decided to hire him a car, encourage him to go climbing/kayaking, and work some of the days to give a natural break.

Thank god the evil one is out of the picture, I get my son back! x

    Evening elite!

Need shopping, will plan a c and c for tomorrow. Shockingly it will just be regular shopping that I buy.

I missed out on the cat food this morning. Well done anyone who got it.

I don't quite understand your problem but I have an iPhone 4 and I can get cos on it and I can see Spar and lots of other places. I tend to use my iPad the most though.

YOURS might be a later version or an iPhone 4 s which supports IOS 8 - the newest COS needs IOS8 - I can't update my iPhone 4 to IOS 8

Good morning all, just started raining here, will save watering the garden anyway :D

Excellent. I assume you now have the cabling to do or has that been done in the meantime? Just thought I would mention if we were cabling out a new (or refurbing an old) house we would have at least 6 cat 5 points in every room in the house (well, maybe 2 in the bathroom) as they can be used for almost anything today.

FC, with what you have been through and what you have to cope with, you should be one of the most confident people in the world let alone on this thread. You leap through hoops and achieve miracles every day of the week, and that is just coping with your DS2!!!! Why don't you just imagine what thoughts DS2 would have on each of the people in your audience :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    Wow, double excitement :T:T:T

Enterprise, before the cabling, the roof windows and tiling needs doing, then the windows/doors (I am researching these.. I'd like sash ones), then stairs, and then the 1st fix electrics.

OH is an electronic engineer (before mid life crisis) so every house we have had hundreds of sockets.

But this time, I want fixed hair dryers in all the bathrooms! I am such a scruff I never dry my hair unless I'm in a hotel with them already fitted (lazy c*w that I am!)

My gang get very twitchy when they home, they find it very tedious , after a couple of days of catching up with sleep and also having their laptops sorted out they get listless - does he still have mates locally he can catch up with?

My eldest has been away so long now there is only one friend left at home and they do meet up at Christmas every year but there lives are so different.

Still to catch up, not sure if already posted - if anyone still has their moc from Chicago Town for the free 'The Deep Dish' pizzas, they are 2 for 1 in waitrose at the moment so you'd get 2 x packs of 2 ;).

Just do us a favour and ask your OH not to strip the Cat 5 cables right back like they do power cables (that is assuming you are having them in!!)

We were testing a new care home a couple of years back, it had been wired out totally by the electrician including Cat 5, and, whilst the sockets worked, we had to fail the whole lot because they weren't good enough, they had stripped back too much cable and it was causing interference (something like that anyway, can't recall precisely).

Bet you are getting really excited though, and good luck with the fixed hairdryers :D
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare
