I don't think that is the case. Only previous claims on home insurance would need to be disclosed.
You are asked about all losses and claims (whether successful or not).
The question asked is along the lines of:
"....how many claims were made and/or losses suffered in the last x years by you and anyone living with you?"0 -
No.

So are you suggesting that one discloses travel insurance claims when obtaining house insurance?0 -
So are you suggesting that one discloses travel insurance claims when obtaining house insurance?
(Where do you get your "advice"?
How do you see a claim for personal possessions on a travel insurance is not a claim to be disclosed?)0 -

Or, do you think that the question on household insurance relates solely to claims made previously on household insurance?0 -
When you apply for house insurance does it ask you whether you have had a claim on travel insurance and maybe a claim on your medical insurance or even a claim on your car insurance?
Or, do you think that the question on household insurance relates solely to claims made previously on household insurance?
You answer the question asked, rather than try and get clever and guess what it says. As others have said, it normally simply asks about losses/claims without qualification.0 -

How many claims or losses have you or anyone to be insured made in the last five years?
So then, say over the past 5 years you'd had a claim on your medical insurance, your travel insurance and your car insurance, would you be declaring each and every one of these in order to obtain your contents insurance in the light of the above question?0 -
If you work in Insurance then I feel sorry for your clients, if you don't (which I suspect as I think everyone of your posts on this thread have been incorrect) then it's understandable but at least accept the advice of people who understand what they talking about0

I think it's safe to assume that it is asking questions relating to the risks proposed.
I wouldn't disclose a medical travel claim but I would disclose a baggage travel claim.0
