I'm not familiar with the apps, but how much money do you expect to save with them in, say, the next 12 months? There's not much point in spending £100 on a phone if it'll only save you £20 p/a, unless you have another need to change phone anyway?

Anyway, assuming you are happy with your current phone, and like Grumbler said above, I might suggest a Tesco Hudl tablet, very good and very cheap (especially if you have clubcard vouchers), much bigger screen than any phone, and you can upload the receipts once you get home.

I recommend the Motorola G 2nd edition (at around £144 sim free). It runs Android Lollipop 5.02 (until the latest upgrade is released), and has a 5" screen. You download any apps you want from the Play Store, including the shopping ones you mention - make sure you have a data allowance on your mobile tariff, unless you intend to only connect via wi-fi at home.

after much reading the posts I have gone with this one, got it for £127.50 from Tesco. thanks for all replies you have really helped.
