Courier Company Drama

Okay, a courier coy tries to deliver with no warning or booking and so guess what - I am not there. However, they leave a card saying they will be back the next day. I therefore take a day of holiday and settle in. There is no delivery despite my calling the "Helpline" which promises a call back before 5pm (no phone call either).
I then call the next morning to discover they are going to deliver the NEXT day so I take another 1/2 day of holiday and collect the item myself.
I have therefore lost 1 and 1/2 days of my annual holiday and believe they are responsible.
Do I have a case to claim against them?

Unless they put it in writing that they guarantee the delivery of the item then unfortunately no you dont.
If you check their T&C's Im sure you will find a disclaimer.0 -
You can try but you won't get anywhere.
I complained and they didn't want to know and they never replied to my letters.Friends are angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly.0 -
There is a difference between them ignoring me and being responsible.
On the note they left they stated they would deliver the following day yet did not - does that not make them to blame?0 -
they would deliver the following day yet did not
How was it worded exactly?0 -
They ticked the box on the note saying they would deliver the following day.0

What courier company was it?0

Don't really want to say (the walls have ears !!!!)0

Why not your doing nothing wrong by naming them0

You do need to look at the specific terms and conditions of delivery. Even if you can claim, very few (in fact I do not know of any, except possibly RM Special Delivery if you specifically pay for it) will allow a claim for consequential loss. The most you are likely to get is the cost of delivery.Gone ... or have I?0

As is probably not surprising, they are ignoring me and my complaint. I feel a small claims summons coming on.
I really do think that too many courier coys take liberties with your time and patience.0
