No bath

That makes me feel old I have a theory that other people's children do not age, I am always shocked to hear an ex colleague's child is going to uni or whatever...0

I can't remember the last time I had a bath. We have 2 children 3 and 5 and they are the only ones that use the bath and then it's only on hair wash night, the rest of the time they go in the shower.Nothing to see here, move along.0

I prefer to have a bath AND a shower. But no way would it be a dealbreaker for me, as you can always put a bath in at a later date. It's not like it's going to cost 10s of 1000s is it?!
Is it a walk-in shower or a wetroom?
A wetroom is fab. So easy to clean. Dead handy.
I do like a bath though.

LOL I know. I told someone I hadn't seen since 1999 that all 3 of mine had been to uni and were all over 18, (2 in their mid to late 20s,) and she was stunned. She still had them all as little kiddies in her head!

I prefer showers, but I wouldn't like to live somewhere without a bath. Every so often I get the mood to just soak for an hour, and I wouldn't like to give that up! As for toddlers, though, I've never understood why people insist on baths for them. Our 2-year-old tends to have baths, but he can get perfectly clean in the shower with one of us.

Does it have a garden? Otherwise, where can you wash your bikes?0

We have been looking at the market in our area for over a year now.
There was a house that came up in our favourite area, it was not big enough so we didnt view it. Over the next 9 months or so the price kept on dropping and we decided to call up to arrange a viewing. We were told on the phone by the agents 'just to let you know before you view, it doesnt have a bath. We have had lots of feedback that the lack of bath is putting folk off so just thought we would let you know in advance. And there is no room in the bathroom to put in a bath.'
The house kept dropping in price and has been removed from the market.
I wouldnt buy a house without a bath....UNLESS there was plenty room to put one in and I had the budget to.0 -
In a family home, I'd want a bath (or a bathroom which had the bath removed but could be replaced). Both for convenience with children, and because of the resale value: many people will happily use a paddling pool etc, but others will instantly cross a house off their list if it doesn't have one.
In a 1 bedroom flat, though, I'd probably not be too bothered: houses aimed at single adults and couples can get by with just a shower in most cases. That said, there are still people who wouldn't even consider it.
I don't really see why you'd ever want to have a house without one, though, unless disabled and unable to use one... even a fairly small bathroom should have space for a bath with shower door."You did not pull yourself up by your bootstraps. You were lucky enough to come of age at a time when housing was cheap, welfare was generous, and inflation was high enough to wipe out any debts you acquired. I’m pleased for you, but please stop being so unbearably smug about it."0 -
I persoanlly would not buy a house with no bath unless I was 100% sure that I could get a proper (full sized) bath fitted. And the amount that I would be willing to pay would reflect the fact that that work would need doing.
So for me, I would be willing to buy a property like that, but I would not be prepared to pay as much as I would for a similar property which had a bath.
If you like the house otherwise, they buy it and install a bath when you can afford to do so, and in the mean time, follow some of the suggestions for tubs / paddling pools for your child. All posts are my personal opinion, not formal advice Always get proper, professional advice (particularly about anything legal!)0 -
I agree with the majority. I would not pass over the chance to buy a house that was amazing in every way, if it had no bath. However, I would prefer it if it was possible to put one in at a later date.
I would have thought though, that in virtually every scenario, it would be possible to have a bath put in. Most bathrooms, surely, have enough room for a bath, and probably had one originally.Proud to have lost over 3 stone (45 pounds,) in the past year! :j Now a size 14!
