So many wonderful suggestions, thank you all so much! Love the look of Newcastle/Northumberland kind of area. And Ireland, though I have to say Scotland is tugging at my heart strings. And York/Yorkshire is also pretty high on the list. So many choices, you've helped so much, thank you!April £10 a day challenge £321.85/£300 May £10 a day challenge £136.93/£310 July £20 a day challenge £530.57/£6200

We moved to Folkestone, Kent last July. House prices here are still low compared to the rest of the South East and there's a lot of money being spent in Folkestone on redeveloping the harbour and sea front. HS1 means a 55 minute journey to central London from the two train stations in Folkestone, the Eurotunnel terminal is only 15 minutes away plus Dover 15 minutes in the other direction for the ferries. We can see the sea sat in our lounge and from every room at the back of the house (and can usually see the French coast). Canterbury has a good university and travel to most places is good including Gatwick. We are missing an IKEA which we miss but other than that we love living by the sea on the edge of the Kent Downs (which we can see from the front of the house). There are good music venues at The Quarterhouse and Leas Cliff Hall in Folkestone plus lots of live music venues that are smaller.0

We're also moving from just outside Brighton and we're moving to Northern Ireland. If nothing else you could buy a SPECTACULAR house! We're moving to the West, the beaches are spectaular, but if you stay in Belfast area then you have the added bonus of all the music venues and Queens is a highly respected (and very beautiful) university.[STRIKE]DFD 22/7/14[/STRIKE]

LMK you are going to love it! It will always be home to me and I love it so much. My sister and other rellies are always off out to one festival or cultural event or somewhere.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These
(he points to some plastic cows on the table) are very small; those (pointing at some cows out of the window) are far away...

Nottingham!
Ticks everything off your list apart from the beach.
We have Capital FM Arena, Rock City, loads of smaller music venues too.
Sherwood Forrest right around the corner, you're also only 20 mins from the Peak district. All the countryside you could ever want there!
2 universities, a great hospital, public transport (buses/trams/trains) that are exceptionally regular.
East Midlands airport is 15 minutes away with good bus links there.
Honestly, give it a look!0
