    Greetings,

I've just joined this forum. I'll be reading and posting here from now I guess because my opinions were not extreme enough for housepricecrash forum. I've just been banned apparently (posts require moderation).

I also posted a message in the "house price crash blocking posts" thread under a different sub forum.

So lets get this straight. You joined HPC, got banned straight away and then joined this specific forum to slate the HPC out of every other forum. I wonder what the odds of this actually are?

Is this a ordinary decent person?

Or is it yet another Sibley crew sock puppet account again?

I've posted on the HPC forums for about the last 12 months, I've made it clear from the start that I am actively looking to buy right now, I've also expressed the opinion that whilst a moderate houseprice correction is desirable and possible there will never be an outright crash of seismic proportions... I've never had anyone on there even disagree with me let alone ban me!

I think an ordinary decent person.
Happy with the election result, brit?
Don't blame me, I voted Remain.

Completely deluded. Sites like that should have a government wealth warning attached and should be made to come in brown packaging.

How can you hold a great disrespect for the British housing system and yet have so much confidence that it will correct itself as required.

If only they would accept that renters have been screwed and will continue to be and that in many ways the market is rigged unfairly through the planning process, they could actually start a campaign that might change things.
Proudly voted remain. A global union of countries is the only way to commit global capital to the rule of law.

If you want to see extreme, then take a look at this thread from post #10 downwards (whilst you still can as I suspect there will be some removals!)

Thanks for posting this, dunstonh. That is disgraceful behaviour on her part; and you are a paragon of patience. It's one of the most frustrating things in life to be called a troll when you have not only behaved impeccably, but also are in the right (and have the backing of experience and wisdom).

Well, I got banned after a couple of months, not straight away. I suspect it was because certain fundamentalist style posters took offence to me suggesting London may not crash 50-90% and reported my posts or something. Apart from that, I cannot see what I said that was so controversial to them.

I can PM you my phone number if you like. You are welcome to give me a call and talk in person, politely, and I'll reaffirm the same story I told on the HPC website. You know, like humans used to do before they could anonymously accuse anyone of anything on the internet? I'm serious about this offer, PM me and I'll respond. This is my only account on MSE.

You can go read my posts on HPC, username MarkWeston, and explain to me exactly how I was trolling or a sock puppet. Which parts of my philosophy that "house prices are overvalued vs historical norms but I cannot guess when the government will lose control of the market", do you disagree with?

It's a pity because I was interested in some of the economic discussions there too, but I am now very wary that my opinion was influenced by a site that allows no alternate views.

EDIT: Maybe the other reason was that I work for a bank and if my IP showed me posting from there, the mods took offence to that?
