So PayPal has joined forces with Bitcoin , as long as they both work for you is there a problem.
I think they were referring to this part of the article...On July 1st, 2015, Paypal will update it’s TOS agreement to take away any and all intellectual rights to any content you provide online. If you use Paypal to accept PayPal, they will attempt to take ownership of any online content you add to your business or website.
I must admit when I got the email and read that part I found it disturbing to say the least. It doesn't affect me personally though so I'll continue using PayPal for purchases and avoid using them for payments if I'm ever in a situation where they would be able to claim my IP as theirs.0 -
I was not aware there was an argument to win, I was just making a true statement of fact in response to a flip remark.Still, gives you something to use to win an argument on the internet, so not all bad eh?
And it is not that "rare amongst couples to be a match" it is quite often the case!0 -
Perhaps but I am the only one bothering to give you any information that could be useful.kheemonahs wrote: »How crass.
As far as the Paypal agreement goes, you pretty much have three choices
1. Agree to use it under their terms.
2. Don't use it.
3. Contest the parts of the agreement you disagree with through the courts.
Which essentially boils down to two choices, agree or walk away.
To perhaps educate us sorrowful souls, perhaps you could enlighten us to the parts of the agreement that you object to.
Also, if you could let us know why this "could possibly be the biggest upset for PayPal customers, EVER!"..0 -
It depends if you think 1:100,000 is "quite often the case".kheemonahs wrote: »

If that were me and my wife I'd be quite proud it was such a coincidence, rather than dismissing it as a common occurrence..0 -
Thank you for your intelligent reply (compared to some others I have received here) to my concerns.I think they were referring to this part of the article...

As I have said above my concerns are that we will not have a choice of this type of payment on eBay after PayPal is independent and they will be able to dictate the terms, either that or stop using eBay.0 -
That's how it is now. You have to accept Paypal to sell on Ebay, when they split, you will still have to accept Paypal to sell on Ebay.kheemonahs wrote: »As I have said above my concerns are that we will not have a choice of this type of payment on eBay after PayPal is independent and they will be able to dictate the terms, either that or stop using eBay..0 -
Proud I am, and did I really use the word "common".It depends if you think 1:100,000 is "quite often the case".

I think I will pay more attention to others on the forum who are not so confrontational and also address the issues as asked without being so personal.0 -

No you didn't use the word common, I used another word, is that not allowed in the user agreement to comment on this thread?
Just bringing it back on topic, how about addressing the questions I asked that were pertinent to it. You don't have to though, I have a very flexible user agreement.;)To perhaps educate us sorrowful souls, perhaps you could enlighten us to the parts of the agreement that you object to.

At the moment paypal is obligatory in all categories apart from motor ones, and for newer users it is the only option available. Also a seller cannot refuse to take paypal if a buyer wants to use it.
If you believe that is going to change and PayPal will not be obligatory then I think many sellers will rejoice rather than see it asa bad thing.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
