You sound like you know our stuff.
I already have a thread running but do you think it will be okay on concrete slabs?
Thank you
We have a tourer and only use it in the summer.
I would imagine the only problem could be with frost, but I did see a aqua roll stand at our local caravan shop the other day but they don't have a website and I can't see one on towsure.0 -
It'll be seriously cold in the winter, minimal insulation, vent holes in every room. Nothing you can do except block the vents and use plug in dehumidifiers.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Any good with tools? might be better knocking up a 3x2 frame with some OSB for a porch, than an awning.0

I think I'd be cultivating local friends especially the nearby ones with very nice baths in the hope they'd take pity on me and offer me a decent bath now and again.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -
We have a couple of caravans abroad in France and Spain. We have an Aquaroll with a gadget to keep it topped up, not sure how it would be for full-time use as compared to handy to save having to manually fill it from a stand pipe. Try registering here and getting the input from 100s of really experienced caravanners as to what is and isn't feasible
Hmm some spammer filter stopped the link, so google ukcampsite.co.uk0 -
many years ago i lived in a small caravan when i worked away, all i remember was how bitter it was during the winter, it made life so misrebale-it really was awful. In the summer it was great, cooking was easier as used BBQs, washing simpler as it dried on the line....
you say it's for only 6 months, 6 months is a long time, could you not put this off so that you live in the caravan for summer instead?Plan: [STRIKE]Finish off paying the remainder of my debts[/STRIKE].
[STRIKE]Save up for that rainy day[/STRIKE].
Start enjoying a stress debt free life.....now enjoying. thanks to all on MSE0 -
Unfortunately not.
It's going to be for a minimum of 6 months. Could be 12. I'm really not looking forward to it but we don't have any friends that close by and we certainly can't afford to rent. Plus we need to be on-site during the renovation.
I appreciate it is going to be dire hence why I am after some hints and tips to help us prepare.0 -
Have you got the space for a static caravan, rather than a touring? It will be a small extra cost, probably easily recouped at the end, and will make a big difference to your living conditions.0

While renovating a old property friends got a cheap static from a local site that was renewing its stock.
They kept the toilet in the house usable while working on the house.
Although they moved to a new area some locals invited then over for a bath/shower.
It was still cold in the winter though and at one point the wife went to stay with her daughter for a few weeks.0
