I keep mine in the microwave, I haven't a bread bin and its hm bread.

We keep the loaf on the work surface.
Every container we've tried has collapsed under the abuse of three hungry teenagers. I abandoned worrying about 'shelf life' about seven years ago, and concealed the repaired lidded box behind the heavy duty cleaning equipment & supplies.
One day, when they've left, we can try using it again...0
