In theory, in the bread bin. In practice, on top of the bread bin.NSD May 1/150

I don't think it is where it is stored is the problem but the quality of the bread.
I have bought bread from Sainsburys brand and it's gone off in days, sometimes before the use by date.
On the other hand I have bought M&S bread and it has been fine for up to 10 days after purchase.
I wouldn't take that as an indication of the quality of the bread, rather the amount of preservatives in the bread. Real bread doesn't last 10 days.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
We freeze ours on the day of purchase it's divided into portions of 4 or 6 slices and we take a portion out of the freezer as needed and store in a lock and lock plastic box (however, it's usually in the freezer bag on top of aforementioned plastic box).
It doesn't usually last long enough to go stale but if it does it gets toasted.

I freeze it when I buy it, usually buy about five loaves in one go. Once defrosted they live in the bread bin. They seem to keep quite well.0

I keep my bread in the freezer only taking out what I want at any one time. If toasting I just do it straight from frozen, if using in a sandwich it only takes 10 minutes to defrost first.1 Sealed Pot Challenge # 1480

Ours is in the freezer too; we have two loaves - a milk roll for our one year old and a larger loaf for myself and bf. I take out slices as needed and allow them to defrost on the side before using. It only takes a few minutes to defrost. For example this morning I lifted out two slices for baby's lunch box and 4 for myself and bf and then had a shower; by the time I was out and dressed the bread had defrosted - much more time efficient.
Often I take it out whilst cooking tea then make the lunches before washing up so that its all done the night before.************************************

Ours is kept in a cupboard on top of the muesli L&L box. If it goes stale before its all used it gets made into breadcrumbs that go into the bag in the freezer.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇
