My house is 1930s and we have a built in larder so the bread lives there. It's quite cold as it is tiled and on an outside wall, but it's not as cold as the fridge.
  • In the winter I keep it in a wicker basket on the work surface together with things like crumpets, wraps etc. if we have them on the menu that week. In the summer I keep bread in the fridge or it goes mouldy very, very quickly.

We only have shop bread for emergencies really, (ie if I'm not well enough to bake, or I've taken my eye off the ball and we've run out) so it lives in the freezer til it's required.

I do keep the HM bread in the fridge for the couple of days it exists, simply because I'm strapped for worktop space and have nowhere to put a bread bin.

    In a kitchen cupboard.

It lasts a few days, but a loaf is normally eaten in 2 so no problem with it going stale/mouldy.

I keep it out on the worktop or in the cupboard sealed in the bag, I've found my house to be terrible for food going off very quickly but I really hate storing bread in the fridge.

no - never, ever in the fridge! it gets staler quicker and affects the taste.
I keep mine on the breadboard on the worktop. if I buy a 'bakery loaf' it gets kept in the paper bag it came in - sealed with sticky tape. if it comes in plastic - then its kept in the plastic.

No where special. I get through just over half a loaf a day. I buy them weekly and freeze them. When they aren't in the freezer I keep them just in the kitchen cupboard.

I wouldn't take that as an indication of the quality of the bread, rather the amount of preservatives in the bread. Real bread doesn't last 10 days.
You forgot to mention the fungicide.... seriously!

We divide our loaf up into halves and then pop in zip loc bags, one in the freezer, one in the microwave.

I very rarely pay full price for bread, it's always yellow sticker and goes straight in the freezer, taking out a couple of slices at a time when I need it.
