Hi everyone, Sorry I've been missing for a while. A bit of a combination of really busy times at work, being ill and feeling a bit low and hopeless about the whole money situation I think!!
So I'm still very much focused on our bills but things seem to be creeping upwards lately. There have been several things come up that we've had to pay for an ultimately it's ended up on the credit card. I feel like I am trying to swim and only just treading water. Since hubby's job changed we've taken a drop in money and we're juggling stuff all the time. We've had a few weeks with no overtime available and the flat week money is about 100 quid less than it was before and there never seems enough. I'm getting paid and transferring money around everywhere to make sure everything is covered. It's so heartbreaking working so hard to clear debt and feeling like there is no end or way out. We still never have anything spare no matter how hard we try and work
We go on holiday next week and haven't got any spending money at all apart from 100 odd quid which'll only just cover diesel and some food shopping. We're going to have to put things on the credit card yet again I think. We really wanted to save the cash but everything seems to be conspiring against us.
Despite all of that our outstanding balance is still going down, although very much slower than I had planned and hoped. I will not let it win though. I am sick of working for essentially nothing!!
Need to just get out of this funk and try and be positive again. I'm fighting really hard and feeling ill isn't helping. Lots of rest needed I think.
Hope you are all well xx0 -
Just updated my signature with our current balances and actually considering the interest going on each month and the fact we've had some emergencies and had to put them on the credit card we're still £2602.49 down on our debt total since I started this end of April 2015. Maybe we're not doing as well I we would like month to month but it is shrinking slowly, I need to try and hold onto that!!0

Chin up! This is an expensive time of year, hols, school hols, uniforms etc. At least its going down, but I totally get where you're coming from, ours is going down so slowly at the moment, its just so frustrating.
I hope you have a lovely holiday! I have the week off with the girls next week - and have no plans as yet - lots of trips to the park and a few picnics weather permitting.
Have a lovely day and keep positive xxMake £10 per day in May £89.29/£3100 -
Hey CF
Good to see you are back, I had missed your updates! I didn't get a chance to respond yesterday but hit the 'thank you' button, as a kind of 'read your update, glad to see you are here - aren't you doing great' message. Hope you read my mind
I hope the illness has passed and you are back to your normal self. It's not easy dealing with the stresses of life whilse you are poorly. You have paid off £2,602 since April - that is mightily impressive, especially when you take into account the interest and the emergencies. You should be so proud!
If there is one thing I have learnt, is that this paying off debt mallarkey is not a linear process. Some months will be easier than others, some will be blooming awful. The important thing is that we plough on and the situation is improving.
Don't beat yourself too much about the lack of savings for the holiday. You are consciously working on your debt busting and that is a very positive thing which you must hold onto.
Stay upbeat, you are doing GREAT!:T:T:T

I will be debt free [STRIKE]by July 2018[/STRIKE] as soon as I can. Current debt £26,473.73
I am now living within my means - without an overdraft and with a (YNAB) budget0
