When did I say it was easy?

You stated there was only a few jobs, I was merely stating that job sites disagreed with you.

Did your manager in the civil service not allow you to withdraw your resignation?

I would strongly suggest that you pay particular attention to the second paragraph of this article, which fully bears out my point about the scarcity of jobs on Wirral and Merseyside: http://jmu-journalism.org.uk/wirral-second-worst-in-uk-for-jobs/

I don't live in Wirral so don't need to pay any attention to it thanks.

Well if you don't live here, then you are not in a position to jump to false preconceptions about the jobs situation here. It is a DEPRESSING place for anybody seeking work.

That's all I've got to say on the matter.

And the many many thousands of people that work in Merseyside, are they all a figment of our imaginations?

And the many thousands of depressed jobseekers who can't even get a damn interview - are they all figments of YOUR imagination????

No one has denied that unemployment exists, but far more are in work than are not.

I do feel for your situation, but you need to focus on why you are not finding work when thousands of other people are - if employers are taking them on, why not you?

No but they are in the minority.

Anyone who classes indeed as a good jobs site showing true numbers of availa posts has a screw loose. Its full of agencies gleaning for contacts without posts being available and duplicate screen scraped posts.

I don't know, I really don't know. The only thing I can attribute it to is the high competition - as I have repeatedly said - chasing each vacancy.

I have 30 years of good, solid admin and customer service experience, coupled with strong Microsoft Office skills, plus personal skills (e.g. team player, working to targets etc. etc.).

    Perhaps I should relocate.

Hence my point about these so-called "jobs" being nothing more than fake agency jobs, amongst other dodgy things like zero hour contracts etc. Too many people who don't have a proper grasp of the jobs situation here on Merseyside are too quick to take these jobs boards at face value without stopping to read between the lines.

There must have been some sort of council tax change.

A few weeks ago a 60 year old gardener who works nearly 30 hours a week for nearly the NMW and doesn't claim any WTC posted on this forum

He noted that over time, his council tax bill which used to be zero (or close to it), then grew and grew until its about 10% of his income so he's feeling the pinch.

I think he earned in a week just short of what you do in a month.

Each Council run their own scheme with their own rules. There are no longer national rules.
These are my own views and you should seek advice from your local Benefits Department or CAB.
